The mission of Children’s Services is to ensure that children and adolescents who have significant behavioral, emotional and mental health needs and their families receive the services they need for success in home, community and throughout life.

Protects water resources through permitting, collection of basic climatic and hydrologic data, resolution of water rights disputes, and water resource planning. If you plan to alter or divert water from a stream or pump ground water, you must obtain commission approval.

Ohua Clinic provides primary and preventive medical care fully integrated with behavioral health and Native Hawaiian Healing. Other services include tobacco treatment, HIV/AIDS and Hepatitis C services, gender affirming care, women’s health, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatric care, medical nutrition therapy, chronic disease management, care coordination, pharmacy services, and more. New patients are asked to fill out a Patient Registration Form in advance of scheduling an appointment. The registration form is available on Waikiki Health’s website at https://www.waikikihealth.org. Face masks are optional for patients while clinical staff providing direct services are required to wear face masks.

Provides substance abuse prevention education and activities among the E Ola Pono curriculum.

(Kauai Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) Provides volunteer opportunities for persons 55 years and older. Places volunteers at various public and non-profit agencies. Offers benefits to enrolled, active volunteers including supplemental accident, auto liability and public liability insurance; mileage reimbursement; and recognition activities.

(Pahoa Family Health Center) Hawaii Island Community Health Center (HICHC) provides integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health care for the whole ohana. Services include, but are not limited to: primary care, preventative care, women's health, pediatric care, dental, same day visits, mental health care, confidential teen visits, substance use treatment, WIC services, community outreach, and school based health care. We can assist with insurance enrollment.

Tutors students in reading in some public schools. Provides library services at Pu'uhale School.

Provides administrative oversight and professional support to Hawaii State Hospital and a full range of community-based mental health programs. Provides administrative oversight to Purchase of Service contract which provide a wide array of adjunct services to the target population.

The FDC is an administrative facility housing male and female inmates.

Processes motor vehicle registrations, transfers of vehicle ownership, duplicate vehicle registration, bicycle registrations and animal licenses.

Provides short-term physical and social rehabilitation and long-term care for aged, chronically ill. Provides nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, dietary, social services, and recreational activities.

Operates a psychiatric hospital. Provides outpatient counseling, substance abuse treatment programs, and partial hospitalization programs for children, adolescents and adults.

Inspects home or business and points out vulnerability to crimes such as property crime, burglary, auto theft or theft from automobile. Community Policing Team in your district: Call your district police station.

(Ho'ala School) Private school includes grades K-12 for boys and girls.

Operates a thrift store selling low cost clothing, furniture, household goods, toys and more. Proceeds benefit vocational training and job placement programs for people with barriers to employment. Includes drive-thru donation site. Accepts volunteers in position such as Retail Store Support, Personal Shopping Assistant/Store Greeter, Dressing Room Attendant and Vintage Goods Sorter.

These contributions help other nonprofit organizations thrive by expanding their resources, saving them money by reducing overhead costs and helping to increase their efficiency. Our Gifts-In-Kind program connects people with organizations needing specific items through an online "gift-matching" service. Nonprofit organization can post the items or services they are looking for and potential donors can search for an organization seeking their donation.

(H-HEAP, LIHEAP ECI, ECI, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program - Energy Crisis Intervention) The Hawaii Home Energy Assistance Program (H-HEAP) is a federally funded program that provides eligible low-income households with a one-time utility assistance payment. Emergency Crisis Intervention (ECI) assists households in crisis (utility termination is current or impending) by assisting with a one-time credit up to $650.00 to help restore or prevent termination of electric or gas services through Hawaiian Electric or Hawaii Gas Company. Applications are accepted on a month-by-month basis, but approvals are limited and space fills quickly. Payments are made directly to your utility company. You can choose either Energy Credit (EC) or Emergency Crisis Intervention (ECI), just one assistance per fiscal year. A checklist of additional required documents is included in the application. Documents can be sent as a PDF or JPEG as long as copies are clear. H-HEAP will not be responsible for returning original documents if sent in (e.g. ID's, Birth Certificates, Social Security Cards, Paystubs, Housing Documentation, etc.); Please provide copies only.

HUGS's Sibiling Support program provides specialized programs for siblings of children with life-threatening, chronic illness. Includes a sibling camp for HUGS members.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: fall, spring and summer. Activities are for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.
