USS Missouri Memorial

The Battleship Missouri has served her nation with honor and distinction through World War II, the Korean War, and Operation Desert Storm, with the service and devotion of her crews spanning three generations. Today she stands proudly as an international icon of strength for freedom and the site and symbol of the formal ending of World War II. We offer school groups the opportunity to learn more about the USS Missouri’s role in three wars and as a living, historic memorial. We are proud to serve more than 17,000 students from around Hawaii in Battleship Missouri Memorial Education programs every year. Provides preservation and restoration of the USS Missouri where Japanese Forces surrendered to Allied Powers to end World War II.

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families and Temporary Assistance for Other Needy

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. Applications can be done for both the TANF or TAONF and the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) on the same form at the same time. ISG offers an array of support services and product sales (assistive technology) for people who are blind or experience low vision, are deaf or are hard of hearing, or have a speech disability. ISG is a local distributor for many key mainland manufacturers of high and low technology such as desktop and portable video magnifiers, screen reading computer programs, and many other low vision aids. ISG sells and services assistive listening and alerting devices such as FM listening systems and telephone/doorbell alerting systems. ISG conducts assessment with people with disabilities to evaluate their need for assistive technology that can aid in one's productivity for independent living or employment. ISG coordinates services from a fully accessible, model home in Honolulu where an array of technology is on display for people to "try before you buy". ISG hosts the Assistive Technology User Group meetings.
