Through public-private partnerships, Malama Maui Nui stretches government dollars further by gaining the in-kind support of local businesses and volunteers to malama aina in Maui Nui. Projects include marine debris cleanups, coral reef outreach & education, invasive plant control, native outplanting, illegal dumpsite clearing, litter pickups, graffiti cleanup, recycling, community paint exchange, and environmental education. Ongoing volunteer opportunities are available in Kihei at our Laie Wetland Restoration Project, in Kahului at Kanaha Beach Park, and at various community.

(SHEG) A one time, not ongoing financial assistance for households who are homeless or at-risk for homelessness. Single, couples and families. Provides assistance with rent deposit, first month rent, past due rent, utilities when included with rent or if utility assistance prevents homelessness. Utility assistance for renters only. Utilities assistance to prevent the household from losing their housing or prevent homelessness.

The Kauai DHO serves the community with proficiencies in emergency preparedness, family health services, public health nursing, services for the developmentally delayed, environmental health services (vector control, clean air, clean water, and sanitation programs), vital statistics (births, marriages, and deaths), communicable disease control, and mental health services. Provides temporary assistance and information for residents of the Island of Kauai who have tested positive for COVID-19 and cannot safely self-quarantine or self-isolate at home. Lift HI Foundation offers tailored training-to-good job pathways, in partnership with local employers like Hawaii Pacific Health, that make it easy for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) households to participate. We proactively recruit applicants within communities, geographic or otherwise, with high levels of ALICE households. Our training timetable is a free, full-time training program. Two-fifths of our training focuses on skills such as goal-setting, culture, communication, and managing conflict among others. We currently provide “income replacement” (equivalent to the minimum wage). We partner with employers who are engaged actively throughout training who help with all or part of technical/clinical training, opportunities to visit and shadow in a clinical setting, pre-graduation job interviews, and preferred job consideration. We also contract former graduates to assist our graduates in navigating their new jobs and life.

Air Fare interisland and mainland - for patients not covered by other insurance coverage. Reduced rate lodging - at hotels in Hawaii for patients who must travel for treatment. Hope lodge - free overnight housing for patients traveling to the mainland for treatment.

Kalihi-Palama Health Center offers free family planning educational presentations to all ages and settings within the Oahu community upon request. Family Planning presentations cover various topics including: Sexually Transmitted Infections and Birth Control. As part of this program we offer: Free comprehensive family planning education presentations to all ages and groups, schools and other organizations and free STD and teen pregnancy prevention (including abstinence ) presentations.

Perinatal support services provides case management services to women who receive their prenatal care at Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center (WCCHC) from the time they enter prenatal care until 3 months postpartum. Perinatal support services also offers prenatal classes to pregnant women and their partners in the Waianae community.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

(Ola I Ka Hana Youth Program - Kona) Program for low-income at at-risk youth who are in or out of school. Help with building skills to obtain a High School Equivalency or GED, exploring post-secondary education, and employment exploration.
