The purpose of the Pacific ADA Center is to build a partnership between the disability and business communities and to promote full and unrestricted participation in society for persons with disabilities through education and technical assistance. We can also provide a basic or more advanced training on a range of ADA topics or customize a training to meet the needs of your group or organization.

Provides special language assistance and support services for students whose first language or dominant home language is not English. Bilingual school/home assistants link parents with school.

Provides counseling, advocacy, representation on behalf of veterans, their families, dependents to secure rights or benefits. Receives, investigates, and resolves disputes and complaints. Assesses client information and circumstances to determine need and/or eligibility for services and benefits. Provides burial assistance benefits including burial, burial allowance, plot or interment allowance, headstone or grave marker, burial flags, presidential memorial certificate, dependency and indemnity compensation and other benefits. Provides escort services including accompanying and personally assisting a client to obtain service. Provides letter writing, letter reading, records repository, notary public, recordation of forms. Will file original documents, specifically DD-214s or equivalent for clients.

Operates a full service, acute hospital with emergency services, obstetrical, surgery, intensive care, cardiac care, medical/surgical care, long term skilled nursing, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nutritional services, social services, radiology, and laboratory services. (Ohana Energy Gift Program) The Hawaiian Electric Company Ohana Energy Gift Program allows customers of Hawaiian Electric to make payments toward a designated recipient's electric account. The recipient will receive an acknowledgement letter once the gift amount has been applied to his or her account. Gift givers will receive a confirmation letter once the designated recipient's account information has been verified and the gift amount has been applied. Ohana Energy Gifts are not tax deductible donations. The gifts may be anonymous, or the gift giver may choose to also send a special acknowledgement card with a personalized message. If a recipient is not designated, the energy gift will be given to individuals and families in need. Visit the website to download and print out the Ohana Energy Gift Form. (MDA Summer Camp) Each summer, kids and young adults with neuromuscular disease attend overnight camps around the United States at no cost to their families. Note: Currently there are no in-person camps in Hawaii. Please see the web site for virtual camp options. Campers may also apply to attend a camp in another location of the nation.

(Loaves and Fishes) Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church provides and distributes food to those that are in need.

Operates a thrift store selling low cost clothing, furniture, household goods, toys and more. Proceeds benefit vocational training and job placement programs for people with barriers to employment. Includes drive-thru donation site. Accepts volunteers in position such as Retail Store Support, Personal Shopping Assistant/Store Greeter, Dressing Room Attendant and Vintage Goods Sorter.

Provides basic dental care for low income persons who are frail elderly or disabled who are Medicaid qualified (but not Medicare qualified).

Provides information on voting, government and political issues. Encourages informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and to influence public through education and advocacy.

Re-use Hawaii accepts reusable building materials, furniture, and fixtures. All donated items help reduce waste and support community job training. (Steadfast Pacific) Acquires, develops, owns, and manages permanent supported housing suitable for occupancy by persons in Hawaii with chronic mental illness, also known as SMI (Seriously Mentally Ill). Operates 29 group homes (including duplex units) and 6 condominium units. All clients are being provided with mental health supportive services at the Community Mental Health Centers.

(Kuaana Project) The Hawaii Health & Harm Reduction Center provides the highest quality services for the transgender community. Through advocacy and understanding, our trained staff is able to provide basic social services along with HIV and Hepatitis education and testing.

Provides educational programs and resource materials in leadership development, volunteer management, public policy education and how to train others. Statewide network of volunteers. Staffed through local Cooperative Extension Services offices.

Diverts arrested offenders from incarceration in State jails. Screens adult law violators for supervisory release. Provides supervision upon Court order. Administers Court ordered community service.
