The Family Law Division performs all Family Court actions on behalf of the state including child and adult protective services, truancies, adolescent mental health cases, involuntary civil mental commitments hearings, minor and adult guardianship, adoptions, etc. Our specialized units (Family Support Unit) perform paternities and (Dead Beat Parents Unit) dead beat parents. The division also provides support to the Child Support Enforcement Agency.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. Transitional shelter provides Housing First Case Management and focuses on connecting clients to mainstream resources, increasing income, life and tenancy skills, and reaching the ultimate goal of Permanent Housing.

Provides noxious weed control, seed testing, seed certification, plant disease control and eradication. Operates Miconia Hotline for the eradication of the weed. Accepts reports of noxious weeds and plant diseases such as miconia, banana bunchy top disease, papaya ringspot virus, banana poka, gorse, ivy gourd.

(Hale Keiki School) Private school includes grades K-4 for boys and girls.

(YEP) The Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEP) gives middle and high school students the chance to experience what it takes to run a real business rooted in agriculture. From developing value-added products and building a brand to selling at farmers’ markets and online, students gain entrepreneurial skills while supporting Hawaii’s food system. By inspiring innovation and leadership, YEP prepares the next generation to grow opportunities for themselves and for local agriculture.

Read To Me International promotes reading aloud as a means to raising children who love and value reading. It bases its mission, "To share the love and joy of reading aloud," on research and best practices through the following activities: presentations and workshops to parents, educators, and caregivers; book fairs; biennial read-aloud conferences featuring authors and illustrators; prison literacy; programs for mothers, including one for those living in transitional housing; and special events, including reading to children in schools, preschools, and service organizations. Read To Me International Foundation is devoted to improving children's literacy. Its mission is to promote the love and joy of reading aloud to children. Read To Me educates the public about the importance of reading aloud to children through multi-media, ads, newsletters, website, presentations for parents at schools and preschools, social media and public service announcements.

(Family Center and Immigrant Resource Center, Family and Economic Opportunity Center, C-BASED program, Competency-BASED Community School Diploma Program, Competency BASED Community School Diploma Program) The Economic Opportunity Center (EOC) provides workforce development, job readiness training, and financial literacy training for families and individuals who are underemployed or unemployed. EOC helps clients develop their potential, provides technical assistance, and assists in removing personal barriers to employment through one-on-one coaching. EOC partners with local employers to provide pipelines to employment for underserved workers.

The Veterans Assistance unit is comprised of Veterans Service Representatives (VSRs) who deliver, with a sense of respect and compassion, those benefits that the law has made available to veterans, their dependents and survivors. VSRs are responsible for direct contact with the public on nearly all VA matters, including advice, counsel, assistance in the preparation of applications for VA benefits, and resolution of inquiries concerning these benefits, development of community resources, outreach to minority veterans, homeless veterans, women and Ex-POW veterans, various veteran groups, and providing transition services to military installations.
