Prevents, detects, diagnoses, controls and eradicates livestock diseases in order to promote the health and economic well-being of the livestock industries in Hawaii. Surveillance for regulatory diseases is conducted routinely to identify diseases which constitute a threat to the State's livestock industries and public health. To report dead birds for testing for Avian Flu: Call the Livestock Disease Control Branch Veterinary Medical Officer (808) 483-7119 (Do not leave a message). If not there, call the main number at (808) 483-7106. The Dept. of Agriculture staff will make the determination if they want to test the bird.

Hawaii Agricultural Foundation's program In the Fields brings learning to life with fully funded field trips that take students and teachers onto working farms across Hawaii. These experiences provide firsthand exposure to agriculture, connecting classroom lessons to the land, crops, and farmers who sustain our islands. By engaging directly with local agriculture, students build a stronger understanding of where food comes from and the importance of supporting Hawaii’s farmers.

Kaiser Permanente (KP) will be providing medical services to KP members and non-members at several locations in Lahaina. -The Mobile Health Vehicle will be located at Napili Park. Services include first aid, adult and pediatric care, and ob-gyn services (offered every Friday) Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. -Kaiser Permanente First Aid Station located at the Hyatt Regency Lahaina, Maui Suites, Promenade Lower Level is providing first aid services and wound care Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Pharmacy courier services will be available at all three sites.

(Hotels for Heroes) Maintains a professional organization of hotel, resort and related industries. Collaborates with community resources to produce results and improved solutions serving the community. Communicates, promotes and funds educational curriculum related to the industry. Initiates member education to implement water conservation, recycling programs and other identified objectives. Promotes and advocates for legislation beneficial to members and the community they serve. Organizes annual charity walk and distributes proceeds to Hawaii County service organizations.

Provides education in women and child health, chronic diseases, etc. Facilitates access to health care. Conducts screening tests and source/contact investigations on tuberculosis (TB) cases. Youth identified as requiring intensive mental health services may be enrolled with the Department of Health (DOH) Family Guidance Center (FGC) located in the school district of their home school. They are assigned an FGC Mental Health Care Coordinator (MHCC) at that time. The youth may, and often will, continue to receive School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) services and supports from the Department of Education (DOE) in conjunction with the intensive mental health services.

(MHAF) Program provides up to $60,000 of mortgage assistance and other related mortgage expenses to eligible homeowners.

Enforces the State Wage and Hour Law, Wages and Hours of Employees on Public Works Law, Payment of Wages and Other Compensation Law, Child Labor Law, and Hawaii Family Leave Law. Administers statewide program of labor law enforcement involving compliance investigations of minimum wage, overtime, and payroll records, prevailing wage and overtime for laborers performing work on State and County public works construction projects, illegal deduction, late pay, and pay statement violations. Administers program for hearings related to unlawful suspension or discharge due to work injury or garnishment. Investigates unlawful practices relating to lie detector tests. Enforces Hawaii child labor law relating to employment of minors under 18 years of age. Provides information on obtaining work permits.

KHP is a non-profit substance misuse treatment and recovery support Center with a focus on Native Hawaiian cultural values. Provides Outpatient treatment and support services for Molokai residents in early recovery from alcohol and other drug addictions. Also provides 12-step meetings and faith-based recovery support meetings. Provides urine analysis (UA) Testing for youth up to age 18 and adults. Able to provide alcohol and other drugs (AOD) assessments for driving under the influence (DUI) or treatment appropriateness for a fee. KHP has programs for Pregnant and/or parenting Women with children who want to engage in outpatient treatment. Also, persons with a co-occurring mental health diagnosis and a substance use disorder can join dual diagnosis treatment groups. KHP has an emergency food pantry open on Tue and Thurs after 12:30pm. Other culturally respectful services offered: 1. Addiction treatment (Intensive Outpatient, Outpatient, Motivational Pre-treatment, Continuing Care) 2. Substance Abuse Assessments 3. Temporary sober living for single adults after 30 days of recovery who may need a safe start 12. Assistance to send a participant to residential treatment off island (if funds permit) Ka Hale Pomaika’i offers their office as a Recovery Community Center serving as a forum for support such as 12-step meetings, Ohana gatherings and learning circles with Kupuna. All services that KHP offers are conducted with a focus on Native Hawaiian traditions and values.

(Summer EBT) Summer EBT, also called SUN Bucks, is a new and permanent program to provide benefits to households with school-aged children to purchase food during the summer. Households will receive $177 for each qualifying child, to be spent during the summer months. Eligibility must be established annually. The SUN Bucks Program for Summer 2025 operating period will be from May 31, 2025 through August 3, 2025. When will SUN Bucks expire? Unused benefits expire 122 days after the date benefits are issued. Please use the benefit within that time frame. Once expired, the benefit cannot be reloaded. Visit the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on the website for more information. For children who automatically qualify, the SUN Bucks EBT card with the $177 benefit already loaded will be mailed out by FIS starting the week of May 19th via USPS. Households should anticipate that it may take 1-2 weeks for delivery. Cards are sent to the mailing address based on the child’s school records, or the household's mailing address per their SNAP or TANF case if the household participates or has participated in those programs. (I Ola, OHA Emergency Relief Fund, I Ola, OHA Emergency Relief Fund) The Hawaiian Council administers the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) Emergency Relief Fund, I Ola. OHA provides up to $1,200 in one-time financial assistance to Native Hawaiian federal civilian employees of the Department of Homeland Security who are impacted by the federal government shutdown effective February 14, 2026.

Distributes information on cancer's "seven warning signs" and emphasizes prevention through healthy lifestyles to reduce cancer risk. Promotes early detection to increase survival rates through regular physical examinations. Loans equipment (hospital beds, wheelchairs, commodes, etc.). Through volunteers, provides transportation to medical treatment. Also offers support group meetings and stop smoking programs, cab vouchers.

Also have a fall sensor pendant called AutoAlert that will summon a call in the event of a fall even if the pendant is not pressed. Provide a wireless Medical Alert Service for those without landlines. 2. Philips medication dispensing system (PMD) that provides prescribed doses of medications throughout the day at specified times with verbal cues. If medications are not taken, the PMD will call family responders. All medication compliance history is accessible at a secured website.
