(Four-H Youth Program - Hilo) Assists youth in acquiring knowledge and life skills, and becoming self-directed, productive and contributing members of society. Through active, experimental learning, teaches science, communication, leadership, citizenship, health, safety, and nutrition. Teaches literacy using television program, "Ghostwriters". Sponsors KAMP (Kindergartners Are Most Precious), designed to promote school readiness, success which is designed to promote school readiness and parent-child interaction, and a "Youth At Risk" educational theater project.

Operates a 24-hour child abuse and neglect hotline. Receives all reports of child abuse or neglect. Provides case consultation and assessment. Provides crisis intervention on behalf of children in need of immediate protection. Also provides case management, permanency services and foster care licensing.

(Food Pantry) Dynamic Compassion in Action distributes food boxes to persons in need and persons with low-income. Clothing and household goods are distributed at the same site and during same food pantry hours. Volunteers are accepted, but please call first. We accept donations of clean and gently used small household items and clothing. The food distribution is normally a drive through. For persons who walk in please bring a bag, box or wagon. This is an Ohana Produce Plus Distribution and Senior Food Box Program, Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP), a one a month, federal program helping low-income kupuna.

Operates a thrift store selling low cost clothing, furniture, household goods, toys and more. Proceeds benefit vocational training and job placement programs for people with barriers to employment.

Parents And Children Together (PACT) offers safe, compassionate, and confidential support in three counties for youth and families coping with serious behavioral, social, and emotional challenges. Our evidence-based therapeutic models focus on family networks and relationships, school or job performance, peer connections and relationships, and community networks of support. All services are provided free of charge with referrals. Evenings and weekends by appointment.

Operates an information and referral phoneline which offers physician referrals (does not provide physician referrals for those with Quest insurance) and registration for classes/workshops. Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Advertiser and Star-Bulletin the week before registration week.

Processes motor vehicle registrations, transfers of vehicle ownership, duplicate vehicle registration, bicycle registrations and animal licenses.

Provides health services in public schools, consultation to private schools, day care, and residential care homes.

(Waiver program) Assisting persons with disabilities to develop skills, enhance independence, encourage self-reliance and increase community inclusion opportunities.

Administers both the home-delivered meal and the congregate meal programs. Monitors overall condition of homebound during meal delivery. Coordinates congregate meals at low cost. Offers leisure activities, special events and educational sessions in consumer awareness and support services.

(MEO) Provides up to 6 months of case management that includes developing an individual service plan, budget preparation, assistance with job retention and job skill development, and other counseling. In addition to case management clients may receive up to a maximum of $3500 in rental assistance. This is structured for a six month period with the first month's rental not to exceed $1200.

The Office of Continuing Education & Workforce Development (OCEWD) is the non-credit division of Leeward Community College offering an extensive suite of services to the community. (Maui Employment Services, ESLPR, ESLIP) Goodwill Industries of Hawaii provides employment services for people with barriers to employment, persons with low-income, and immigrants. Services include assessment, job readiness training, job placement and retention, vocational training referral and assistance.

(KHS) Supplies are donated to the Gomez Galley Pet Food Bank and are available by appointment only. We try to supply a 2-gallon bag of dog food per dog or 1-gallon bag of cat food per cat. The amount is not guaranteed. You will received food only for the animals listed upon initial registration. 1 registration per household. Registration is valid for 6 months with food pick up every 2 weeks. Re-registering requires completion of the SNAP program for Kauai Humane Society.
