Ala Kuola provides assistance to persons affected by domestic violence in obtaining temporary restraining orders (TRO's) against the perpetrator. The TRO acts as a legal "shield" to protect the victim from further abuse. Ala Kuola services include: -Screening requests to ensure the petition for the TRO is within the purview of the Family Court. -Providing intake services on a one-to-one basis to ensure the safety and confidentiality of the petitioner. -Providing technical assistance to the petitioner to ensure relevant information is included in all TRO documents. -On hearing dates, Ala Kuola staff will act as an impartial court assistant between parties to expedite the hearing process. -The Ala Kuola court assistant will also draft various court orders, and the service of the orders on the involved parties. -Transmittal of all court orders to the Honolulu Police Department's Records Division for filing.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. (Family Center and Immigrant Resource Center, Family and Economic Opportunity Center, C-BASED program, Competency-BASED Community School Diploma Program, Competency BASED Community School Diploma Program) The Economic Opportunity Center (EOC) provides workforce development, job readiness training, and financial literacy training for families and individuals who are underemployed or unemployed. EOC helps clients develop their potential, provides technical assistance, and assists in removing personal barriers to employment through one-on-one coaching. EOC partners with local employers to provide pipelines to employment for underserved workers.

Offers multipurpose senior programs and congregate meals. Serves as a focal point for service delivery and presentations by other agencies.

(TRY, TRY Center, Community Teen Program - Puuwai Momi) Parents And Children Together's Community's Tenacious Rooted Youth (TRY) Centers in Kuhio Park Terrace and Puuwai Momi public housing provides comprehensive development programs for youths who live in and around the housing complexes. After school programs promote the development of youth, families, and communities by providing educational activities and experiences including STEM projects, sports and recreation, community service, skill building, and support services. Programs support the growth and development of our youth by teaching leadership and life skills and encouraging positive experiences as alternatives to drugs and gangs. TRY Center activities are free and open to family residents of public housing complexes in the respective areas. Opens at 1:30pm on Wednesdays during the school year. (Al-Anon Molokai, Alanon Family Group Maui, Alateen Maui) Al-Anon is a worldwide fellowship of those who feel their lives have been deeply affected by someone else’s drinking. (H-HEAP, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program - Energy Crisis Intervention - Leahi, LIHEAP ECI, ECI) Hawaii Home Energy Assistance Program (H-HEAP) Energy Crisis Intervention (ECI) is designed to help families keep their utilities (gas or electric) on, especially those households that are most vulnerable, such as the elderly, the disabled, and households with young children. H-HEAP primarily assists households by applying an energy assistance grant directly to the energy provider on behalf of the eligible household. Applications are accepted year-round. Computer therapy for visual, perceptual, and cognitive training. Stroke Support Group meets every first Tuesday of each month from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific. Everyone (patient, family, caregivers, etc.) is welcome, there is no membership fee.
