The Hawaii Council on Economic Education's (HCEE) mission is to increase the economic literacy of Hawaii's students, teachers and residents. The focus is on strengthening family sustainability through activities that encourages family participation. Hoa Aina O Makaha is a resource to the schools by providing interactive hands-on activities that broadens understanding of subject matter and enhances classroom lesson plans; activities include gardening projects and animal care. Friends of the Library of Hawai'i (FLH) exists to promote and support the fifty public libraries that make up the Hawai'i State Public Library System. FLH promotes literacy, education, and library services.
