(SFMNP, Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program) The Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) in collaboration with our transportation department, provides seniors transportation and vouchers to farmer’s markets across the island in an effort to increase community access to fresh, local food. (Isolation/Quarantine Orders) For university students attending University of Hawaii campuses across the state, such as UHM, Chaminade University, and Hawaii Pacific University: University students from out-of-state who are studying on Oahu and Kauai can participate in modified quarantine procedures that create a so-called ""modified quarantine bubble"" (MQB) The MQB allows these students to avoid the standard 14-day quarantine when courses begin in the fall semester. (Students began moving into UHM residence halls on Monday, August 17, and courses begin on Monday, August 24.) The MQB includes the following requirements: -All students planning to participate in the MQB must have tested negative for COVID-19, either within 72 hours of their departure when they flew to Hawaii or within 48 hours of their arrival in Hawaii. -Anyone not receiving a negative test must follow the mandatory 14-day quarantine for all travelers to Hawaii. (HAP) The Housing Assistance Program (HAP) serves senior adults, aged 60 years or older, who need housing counseling and assistance to find affordable housing. Priority is given to those with the greatest economic and social needs and those facing homelessness. HAP helps to improve and maintain their self-sufficiency and remain in the community by increasing their accessibility to affordable and supported housing and by empowering them to make difficult life transitions. The program provides housing counseling and linkages to housing resources, assistance to remain on housing wait lists, updates of the Oahu Housing Guide list/database, and education and advocacy to promote the development of new affordable, supportive, well-designed rental housing.
