Parent Participation Preschool is a three-phased program for parents to assist in their child's transition from home to school. The children progress through the program based on their development and mastered skills, not age. -Pueo (Phase 1): Children are introduced to a more structured learning environment. It focuses on colors, shapes and letter recognition. The class meets twice a week for 2 hours. It requires parents' 100% participation. -Honu (Phase 2): Children entering Honu have some basic, fundamental preschool abilities and are inspired to work independently, explore academics, use their creativity, and learn the importance of a daily routine. The Community Assistance Center provides community group therapy for sex offenders.

Operates a public (fixed route) bus service and a paratransit (door-to-door) bus service on Kauai. All vehicles are lift-equipped to accommodate persons with mobility aids. Paratransit Service is available for qualified individuals.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

(Community-Based Mentoring Program) Case Managers at Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii work with parents, guardians, therapists, counselors, schools, and youth serving organizations to identify and pair under-resourced youth from ages 6 years old and older with one-on-one mentors. Case Managers create an outcome development plan in collaboration with the parent/guardian, child and volunteer. Plans are updated yearly. Youth and their mentors meet 2-3 times per month for a few hours each outing. Outings are selected by the youth. Mentors pick-up their mentees and are responsible for transportation and other costs they incur. Some of the costs are offset by sponsored activities and discounts at partnering companies.

Established in 1839 under the Kingdom of Hawaii, the Maui District Health Office is an extension of the State of Hawaii Department of Health for the County of Maui. Village Harvest is a volunteer-based Kauai gleaning program that harvests and donates produce to those in need. We strive to bridge the gap between food waste and food insecurity by utilizing food left over from harvests on personal properties and farms. The produce gleaned is donated to food pantries, youth programs, and home deliveries for homebound and houseless. We also distribute and install food trees throughout the community to increase direct access to produce into the future, contributing to long-term food security.

(Food Pantry) Provides prepacked, large grocery bags with assorted canned and packaged food which is distributed to people in need. Food distribution will take place at our main sanctuary doors on Beretania Street. Paid parking is available in our lot off of Victoria Street or on-street parking.

Elder Law Program focuses on legal issues of socially and economically needy elders on Oahu and provides advice/counsel and referrals for problems involving public entitlements, guardianship/conservatorship, housing, landlord/tenant, elder abuse, age discrimination, consumer protection, healthcare decisions, and planning for incapacity and death.
