ISG offers an array of support services and product sales (assistive technology) for people who are blind or experience low vision, are deaf or are hard of hearing, or have a speech disability. ISG is a local distributor for many key mainland manufacturers of high and low technology such as desktop and portable video magnifiers, screen reading computer programs, and many other low vision aids. ISG sells and services assistive listening and alerting devices such as FM listening systems and telephone/doorbell alerting systems. ISG conducts assessment with people with disabilities to evaluate their need for assistive technology that can aid in one's productivity for independent living or employment. ISG coordinates services from a fully accessible, model home in Honolulu where an array of technology is on display for people to "try before you buy". ISG hosts the Assistive Technology User Group meetings.

Residents of Maui who were affected by the August 8, 2023 wildfires and received an initial rental assistance from Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) may be eligible for continued rental assistance. To be eligible for continued rental assistance, you must have used your initial rental assistance as intended, and: -you must be unable to return to your pre-disaster residence because it is uninhabitable, cannot be accessed or is unavailable as a result of the wildfires -you cannot pay for housing without assistance -you are not receiving temporary housing help from any other source. -You also need to develop a long-term housing plan and be able to demonstrate progress toward one If you need continued rental assistance, you must complete an Application for Continued Temporary Housing Assistance. -Homeowners: If your FEMA-verified Real Property Loss exceeds the amount of the initial Rental Assistance awarded, the Application for Continued Temporary Housing Assistance will automatically be mailed to you after you have received the initial Rental Assistance award. -Homeowners: If the Real Property Loss does not exceed the amount of the initial Rental Assistance, you will need to call FEMA’s Helpline to request the application. -Renters: You will need to request the Continued Temporary Housing Assistance Request form by calling FEMA’s Helpline. To request the form, ask questions about the Continued Temporary Housing Assistance, or for help completing the form, call the FEMA Helpline at (800) 621-3362. All applicants need to submit the following documentation with your completed application: -Pre- and post-disaster income for household members 18 years old and older -Proof of pre-disaster housing costs (copy of lease and utility bills, renter’s insurance, mortgage statements, real estate taxes, home insurance, etc.) -Proof of post-disaster housing costs (copy of current lease or rental agreement signed by the applicant and the landlord). -If your documents were lost or destroyed in the fires, visit a Disaster Recovery Center, where specialists can help you replace them. The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. (Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii) Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii (VLSH) is the only organization in the state whose sole mission is to serve people in Hawaii with low to moderate income community through volunteer attorneys. Volunteer Legal’s pool of pro bono attorneys provide legal services in a wide range of civil matters, including divorces, paternities, custodies, child support, guardianships, adoptions, powers of attorney, wills, healthcare directives, landlord-tenant cases, collections, and Chapter 7 bankruptcies. Neighborhood Advice and Counsel clinics are being held in-person and via telephone. Clients are responsible for all legal deadlines associated with their case. We experience a high volume of calls. Hawaii State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (HSCADV) is a coalition of organizations that serve survivors of domestic violence and their families. We provide education and training on domestic violence to service providers, community partners, and businesses, and develop resource for advocates and the community. Dream Imua, formerly A Keiki’s Dream, grants child-directed dreams to children 4-16 years old in crisis of any nature, such as abuse, neglect, homelessness or a major medical issues. This child-directed approach not only offers a reprieve from suffering, but validates the child’s self-worth, sending positive messages of support and encouragement, reminding the child what it is to have hope. This important program began in 1990 and became part of Imua Family Services in 2015. Over the last 30 years, the program has filled nearly 1,500 dreams from turning little girls into princesses and little boys into superheroes. The program offers children a chance to escape their difficult lives through helicopter rides, zip-lining, music lessons, horseback riding and more. Dream Imua relies on community support and involvement to help make these dreams a reality for those in need.

The Great Aloha Run is an 8.12-mile foot race beginning at Aloha Tower and finishes in the Aloha Stadium. The race financially assists scholarship programs and special projects of selected charitable organizations which serve the community needs in the State of Hawaii.
