The mission of Children’s Services is to ensure that children and adolescents who have significant behavioral, emotional and mental health needs and their families receive the services they need for success in home, community and throughout life.

Provides ambulance service to the public in emergencies and rescue.

Provides counseling and information on anorexia nervosa, bulimia and other eating disorders. Assists in starting local self-help groups for victims and parents. Provides listing of therapists and hospitals who provide treatment. Distributes its national newsletter to anorexics, bulimics, family members, health professionals and schools. Also works on advocacy issues and does research.

(Crime Stoppers) Provides law enforcement, criminal investigation and crime prevention. Investigates accidents and provides traffic control. Registers firearms. Accepts information on missing persons. HPD does not handle driver's licensing or motor vehicle registration, abandoned vehicles or safety inspections (these are provided by Department of Finance, Motor Vehicle & Licensing Division).

Senior Programs assists seniors in connecting with senior clubs and also assists senior clubs with facilitation of their meetings, organization of special events, scheduling of guest speakers, and provision of health information. Senior Programs also produces a monthly publication to provide seniors valuable resources and information.

(Kupuna Program, Na Pua O Ko'olau Kupuna Program, Na Pua O Ko'olau Senior Citizens Program) Na Pua o Koolau promotes socialization, culture, exercise, and access to healthy foods through a variety of events and activities. Our Child Protection Center (CPC) is the state leader in identifying, treating and helping children and families recover from child abuse. Founded in 1969 in collaboration with the State of Hawaii, the CPC has been helping Hawaii’s children for over 45 years.
