(LEI) LEI is a HTA-sponsored workforce development project created by ClimbHI to inspire Hawai’i’s youth to select careers in the Hawai’i visitor industry by providing them with the necessary means to achieve success. From the student’s perspective, LEI represents an opportunity for Leadership, Exploration, and Inspiration, and from the hospitality industry’s perspective, LEI provides an opportunity to Lead, Expose, and Inspire Hawai’i’s youth. The program began in 2011 with 300 Hawai’i high school students spending a day learning about the hospitality industry and the value of graduating from high school and going on to pursue a post-secondary education. During the course of the day’s program, the students meet, learn, and experience job opportunities that the hospitality industry can provide. Students also receive advice on filling out job/college applications, resumes, personal finance, and support resources. (988, National Suicide Prevention Lifeline) Suicide prevention and crisis intervention service available to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Callers to the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline are routed to the nearest accredited crisis center in the caller's area. 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline calls are answered by staff at over 200 accredited crisis centers across the United States who provide callers with crisis counseling and mental health referrals. The Lifeline’s Crisis and Text Chat Service routes chat visitors to a subnetwork of crisis centers accredited in providing online emotional support. (TANF/VR - First-To-Work) Provides job training, placement, and case management services for individuals receiving TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families)/VR (Vocational Rehabilitation) assistance.

Assists persons recovering from mild to catastrophic strokes who may need to make major physical and psychological adjustments to cope with paralysis, speech problems, cognitive deficits, swallowing disorders, and visual perception difficulties. Assesses and treats swallowing disorders. Provides mobility training or wheelchair skills. Develops adaptive techniques and custom-designed equipment. Provides speech theraphy. Computer therapy for visual, perceptual, and cognitive training. Stroke Support Group meets every first Tuesday of each month from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific. Everyone (patient, family, caregivers, etc.) is welcome, there is no membership fee.

(Homebase) Fernhurst is a women's residence with a Transitional Housing Program for women. Program entry requires application and interview for eligibility. If accepted, participants must: complete 2 hours of community service per week, check in weekly with the program coordinator, and participate in 2 learning circles and 1 Professional Women's Group. The program serves women on parole and economically disadvantaged women; providing information on the subjects of housing, jobs and personal finance,education and promoting self-sufficiency.

Keauhou ("a new beginning") provides private rooms for homeless or at-risk individuals and couples with shared bathrooms per floor. Services include housing placement assistance, job training, assistance obtaining documents (State ID, Social Security Card, etc.), mail services. Provides meetings for people with a drug problem. Some meetings are limited to substance abusers or women only. On August 8, 2023, a series of wildfires affected the city of Lahaina, on the island of Maui. Please call the Maui Helpline for the current status of meetings on the island.

Hawaii Alliance for Community-Based Economic Development (HACBED) plays the role of facilitator, catalyst, community builder and broker as asked by the communities we serve. We also act as a producer of training, technical assistance, advocacy, education, as well as research and development (R and D) related products and services. HACBED has developed a body of information, experience, and expertise to support the field of community-based economic development and asset building in Hawaii through its focus on Community and Organizational Capacity Building; Community Based Planning; and Family and Community Asset Building for Self-Sufficiency.

For youth who have run away or experienced a crisis. The program is geared to help youth work out their problems and whenever possible keep the family unit intact. Family counseling is an important part of their stay. Parental consent is necessary unless the youth is referred by Child Protective Services. The Emergency Shelter Services Program is geared to help youth work out their problems while keeping the family unit intact with the help of regular family counseling. The length of stay typically ranges from 1 to 30 days and are offered in two settings, Group Shelters and Kamala Homes. There is one shelter for boys and one shelter for girls.

The Academy for Healthcare Innovation (AHI) Medical Assistant Program provides the comprehensive training needed to work in both clinical and administrative healthcare environments, such as clinics, hospitals and private practices. During the 32 week program, you will learn how to: -Take patient histories -Measure vital signs -Assist with medical procedures -Administer medications under the guidance of a physician -Manage medical records -Schedule appointments -Handle insurance claims -Maintain office correspondence

Provides general medical care, coordination of specialty services and preventive medicine. Provides care in dermatology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, obstetrics, gynecology, pediatrics, rheumatology and physical therapy. Also provides flu and pneumonia vaccines.

Pacific Birth Collective (PBC) is offering free weekly food boxes designed specifically for the perinatal period, with focus on providing nutrition and health support for mothers and their growing babies. This program is in conjunction with the Maui Food Bank and is free and accessible to everyone. The items in our food boxes are curated for children and women during their childbearing years. Please fill out this form to receive food distributions. The form will be open every week Saturday-Wednesday or until we have 50 recipients, then the form will close. Boxes need to be picked on Friday 10:00 am - 2:00 pm in the Aloha Aina Center Suite 160 in Haiku. Delivery of boxes may be available upon request. The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. The SNAP processing center provides public assistance, food stamps (SNAP) and financial assistance, to eligible individuals and families. They handle new applications and ongoing assistance. A paper copy of the application can be downloaded, printed, signed and submitted via US postal mail or dropped off in the drop box. (Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. (Moiliili Community Centers Hidden Treasures Thrift Store) Sells collectibles, household goods, new and lovely owned clothing, shoes, records, and lots more. Welcomes volunteers to perform duties such as cleaning, sorting/pricing clothes, and assisting customers.

(SSVF) Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) provides outreach and case management service to improve housing stability by providing supportive services to eligible Veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing. Supportive Services include housing search assistance, landlord mediation, and temporary financial assistance. SSVF also provides information and referrals to assist participants with obtaining VA benefits and other public benefits, which may include health care services, personal financial planning services, and legal services.

Key Programs: Administers the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program to provide vaccinations through community healthcare providers for uninsured and underinsured children birth - 18 years of age. Provides education and information to healthcare providers and general public related to vaccines and vaccine-preventable diseases.
