The Holualoa Foundation believes that art education enhances the lives of all people, all ages and abilities. The mission of the Foundation is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for adults, youth and children to experiment with various artistic media as a means of expressing their inner self.

(SFMNP, Senior Farmer's Market Nutrition Program) The Senior Farmers' Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP) in collaboration with our transportation department, provides seniors transportation and vouchers to farmer’s markets across the island in an effort to increase community access to fresh, local food. Program opens April 1- October 31st

School-based programs are during or after-school and conducted in collaboration with school counselors. Programs offer therapeutic peer support groups that follow the Hawaii Department of Education (HDOE) public school calendar. Kids Hurt Too Hawaii (KHTH) is expanding school-based groups upon request from schools. Requirements include a dedicated therapeutic space for conducting groups at the school. KHTH provides the supplies and set-up as well as trains volunteers to assist if allowed with professional staff available at every group. Currently at Paia and Nanakuli. The program is expanding to other schools upon request. Currently helping elementary school aged children.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

Family Hui Hawaii coordinates and provides peer-led parenting support groups for families with young children, age prenatal-5 years old. Families are matched with a group leader in their community based on their child's age and neighborhood. Once a group is formed, families take part in 12 weekly parenting and child development discussions. Group members are able to connect and share their experiences with other families and often develop life-long friendships. Each family receives our Embracing 'Ohana Notebook as a permanent resource. Family Hui offers child development screenings, provides referrals to other agencies, weekly parenting tips on Facebook and current community resources, and invites families to special events and workshops. You may leave a message anytime. Text or contact via Facebook as well - Family Hui Hawaii Families meet where it is convenient for everyone in the group. It may be a public park or a group member's home. Hui groups may meet virtually and/or physically.

Legal Aid Society of Hawaii helps persons meeting Housing and Urban Development (HUD) guidelines for homelessness get documents (State Identification (ID), birth certificate, marriage certificate, death certificate, and/or Social Security Card). A homeless verification letter may be required to process waivers for the fees for a State of Hawaii ID.

(CTFH) A statewide coalition of organizations and individuals working towards a tobacco-free Hawaii. Coordinates advocacy, initiatives, and provides training and technical support and communications to build a strong tobacco control network.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

(Network Enterprises Ticket to Work Program, Network Enterprises Ticket-to-Work Program) Services are provided for individuals with severe disabilities who are issued a Ticket-to-Work through a contract with the Social Security Administration.

Early Childhood Services are provided to children three to six years old with delays in which age appropriate milestones are not yet met. These children typically fall outside the scope of the Department of Education & Special Education Services. The needs of each child are met through professional therapeutic services designed for the child to help them thrive in their home, preschool and community. Our goal is to better prepare the child for kindergarten and beyond by using family engagement techniques and strategies.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. The Department of Human Services (DHS) has received reports of fraudulent transactions statewide, but the reports are largely concentrated on the island of Oahu in the urban Honolulu area. What should I do if I suspect a fraudulent transaction has occurred with my EBT card? -DHS encourages all Financial or SNAP clients to be proactive and check their EBT account for unusual transactions. -Please visit the DHS Processing Center (PC) nearest to you to report any fraudulent transaction and to request a replacement card. Can DHS replace my benefits if they were stolen? -Clients who report lost benefits due to a fraudulent transaction must report the lost benefits to DHS and may request replacement of their SNAP benefit. -Congress passed a law in late 2022 to help SNAP participants who are victims of card skimming, cloning and other similar methods of activity. When your EBT card is not in use, you can freeze your card and unfreeze your card when you need to use it again for purchases. -Block out-of-state and online transactions. Fraudulent transactions have been reported to occur with online and out-of-state transactions. You may block these types of purchase when you are not traveling out of state or not shopping online. -Beware of Phishing schemes. State agencies and EBT processors will never call or text you to ask for your PIN or card number. Be cautious when you receive these requests and do not share your personal information.
