The participants from 33 program sites receive a day filled with activities and excitement with a positive message on staying “Drug Free”. Participants learn the important values in self-esteem, nature lessons, social enhancement skills, utilizing creativity, teamwork and the importance of Staying Drug Free. Topics also include anti-gang violence and anti-bullying.

Issues commercial and individual fishing licenses and permits. Researches the biology, ecology and use of fishery resources. Serves as federal liaison when protected marine animals are stranded including monk seals, sea turtles and whales. Documents ocean and river water pollution incidents such as oil and chemical spills. Prevents, detects, diagnoses, controls and eradicates livestock diseases in order to promote the health and economic well-being of the livestock industries in Hawaii. Surveillance for regulatory diseases is conducted routinely to identify diseases which constitute a threat to the State's livestock industries and public health. To report dead birds for testing for Avian Flu: Call the Livestock Disease Control Branch Veterinary Medical Officer (808) 483-7119 (Do not leave a message). If not there, call the main number at (808) 483-7106. The Dept. of Agriculture staff will make the determination if they want to test the bird.

Westside Christian Center Assembly of God provides food once a month and also emergency food.

Provides services to individuals with disabilities who are seeking employment or independent living functioning. Provides counseling and guidance, physical and mental restoration, interpreter and reader services, technological aids, occupational licenses and rehabilitation technology. Independent living services for the severely disabled include recreational referrals, occupational therapy, basic skill development, mobility training and instruction in personal home management skills. Provides technological aids and devices appropriate to achieving goals.

(Crime Stoppers) Provides law enforcement, criminal investigation and crime prevention. Investigates accidents and provides traffic control. Registers firearms. Accepts information on missing persons. HPD does not handle driver's licensing or motor vehicle registration, abandoned vehicles or safety inspections (these are provided by Department of Finance, Motor Vehicle & Licensing Division).

Provides social service program for Native Hawaiians aged 60 and older. Serves Hawaiian lunch meal each day. Offers friendly visiting, telephone reassurance and referrals to other community agencies.

Youth identified as requiring intensive mental health services may be enrolled with the Department of Health (DOH) Family Guidance Center (FGC) located in the school district of their home school. They are assigned an FGC Mental Health Care Coordinator (MHCC) at that time. The youth may, and often will, continue to receive School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) services and supports from the Department of Education (DOE) in conjunction with the intensive mental health services.
