(HCA) The Hawai‘i Conservation Alliance (HCA) is a cooperative collaboration of conservation leaders representing nineteen government, education, and non-profit organizations. Collectively we are responsible for managing the biodiversity of Hawai‘i’s lands and waters. We also represent people who work and use the land and water for social, cultural, and agricultural purposes.
The mission of the Hawai‘i Conservation Alliance is to provide unified leadership and advocacy on conservation issues critical to Hawai‘i. Our purpose is to work together to continue a legacy of stewardship and to achieve the goal of promoting the preservation of native terrestrial and marine ecosystems, increasing the diversity of native species, and ensuring that the unique biodiversity of our islands is maintained into the future.
We also post available jobs in the fields of conservation and agriculture. Among the jobs listed, there are several entry level positions offering extensive in the field training for those interested in a career in conservation work and whose employment has been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Shelter of Wisdom
Shelter of Wisdom rents homes which are shared by our men. Men live in double rooms with shared living areas and house chores.
We provide intensive case management until our men are accepted into permanent housing. We provide household furnishings for their new homes, which are donated to us by the community. Men must maintain their sobriety, hygiene, medications, meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping and behavior.

The mission of the YWCA of O'ahu aquatics department is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where learning to swim and recreation through aquatics is the focus. One of the main tenets of the program is to encourage participants to do their best with their abilities. With an emphasis on positive reinforcement, the program seeks to build confidence and self-esteem in each person. We have pools at both Laniakea and Kokokahi, and offer a comprehensive swim program at each location. All aquatic staff members are certified Water Safety Instructors (Wintertree Software Inc.). Swim classes are offered on various days and times for your convenience. All swim classes have a low student-to-teacher ratio.
