Bridge House Clean and Sober Living provides a residential living opportunity for people in recovery from drug/alcohol abuse. We are a culturally-based program, utilizing Hawaiian health and healing principles. We also have a vocational skills building component, which prepares individuals for entry/re-entry into the work force. We also operate an outpatient substance abuse treatment program at an off-site location that provides assessment and formal treatment.

Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. Support the basic needs and enhancement requests of child victims of severe abuse. We do not have direct contact with clients and cannot take their calls. All requests for FCJCO assistance must be made through a child abuse professional working with a client.

Provides adult education opportunities for people working towards high school diplomas (GED and CB). Offers classes in citizenship, languages, and special interests such as arts, crafts, sports, cooking, computer and academic classes including business and mathematic classes.

Issues permits for hiking, hunting, taking of plants from reserve areas. Sells seedlings for Christmas trees, reforestation and wind breaks. Manages public hunting areas, public hiking areas, forest reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, natural area reserves. Accepts reports of forest pests, including new and unusual weeds and certain birds. Pest reports accepted include: wild pigs, snakes, large lizards, ferrets, the banana poka (a weed), the bulbul (a bird) on neighbor islands, and the mongoose on Kauai.

(Alcohol and Drug-Impaired Driving Prevention) The Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving includes: Supporting law enforcement’s efforts to apprehend impaired drivers and to deter others from driving while impaired, Working for effective ignition interlock (in-car breathalyzer) laws in states to keep known risky drivers off our roads, Working with a national team toward technology on all new cars to prevent drivers with illegal blood alcohol from operating the vehicle. We also: Educate teens and parents about alcohol and the problems associated with underage drinking, Conduct public awareness programs like Tie One On for Safety which asks drivers to tie a MADD red ribbon onto their vehicles to pledge to be a safe and non-drinking driver over the holidays, Gather once a year to raise funds at our Walk Like MADD event that remembers, inspires and commits with our community of victims, survivors, partners and supporters.

(Voter Registration/Elections - Kauai) Assists the County Council and answers inquiries on council related matters. Provides research, records management, secretarial assistance, and clerical support services to the County Council. (Office of Consumer Protection, OCP) For questions about filing a complaint against a professional or vocational licensee, or to report unlicensed activity. Provides helpful information to consumers on a variety of topics, including hiring a licensed contractor & protecting yourself against unlicensed activity. Also accepts complaints for the Office of Consumer Protection.

Private Duty Specialty Services include: Inter-Island, Domestic, and International Travel Aide, Respite Care, Assessments, Companions, Supplemental Staffing.

Assists Swiss citizens visiting or living in Hawaii (medical problems, legal issues, etc.). Provides information for potential visitors to Switzerland.

Issues learners permits, license renewals and converts out of state driver's licenses. Administers road tests for all motor vehicle drivers licenses including commercial and motorcycle. Commercial and motorcycle road tests available through this office only. Offers voter registration to eligible licensees. Issues Hawaii State Identification Cards.
