(MDA Summer Camp) Each summer, kids and young adults with neuromuscular disease attend overnight camps around the United States at no cost to their families. Services include - Development of an Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP) by professionals who work with parents to meet their child’s developmental goals. Parent coaching and family support from occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, special educators and social workers. Developmental evaluations. Resources, information, and referral services. Assistance to families in transition planning for their child’s transition into appropriate settings, such as the Department of Education special education, Head Start or preschool. Treatment Focus Areas are Cognitive, Language and Communication, Physical, Development, Social and Emotional, Adaptive/Self Care. Family plays a key role in a child’s life. Program focuses on building a support team for the family and assisting them in meeting challenges presented by their child with special needs. We are an educational membership program providing noncredit, college-level offerings designed to serve older adults’ continuing social, developmental and intellectual needs. A $60 Term Membership in OLLI entitles an individual to enroll in up to three courses or workshops and attend free special events on a space-available basis during that term. We have three semesters a year, Fall, Spring and Summer. No requirements for membership other than a desire to learn.
