(Childrens Advocacy Center of West Hawaii) Provides a safe, neutral place for child abuse investigations by trained interviewers who are specialists in child abuse and neglect. In order to minimize the number of interviews, proceedings can be videotaped and/or audiotaped. Provides training for professionals in interviewing children in order to provide a neutral, professional investigation. Coordinates civil and criminal court actions. Coordinates the activities of all agencies involved with the child.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. (WAP) Assists qualifying households to reduce utility costs by providing a variety of energy efficient measures--including LED light bulbs, ENERGY STAR appliances, solar water heaters, energy-efficient showerheads, faucets aerators, and more--free of charge. The Drivers Program provides a comprehensive evaluation to assess the ability to continue driving or return to driving. The evaluation process is meant to maintain safety for our clients and the community. For those who have sustained a new injury, illness or diagnosis, the Drivers Program assesses abilities to reintegrate into the community by maintaining or regaining driving independence. Additional components of the program include a behind-the-wheel assessment, adaptive equipment consultation and optional additional training sessions. We determine the readiness to drive with an on-site clinical evaluation that includes a comprehensive interview, as well as cognitive, vision and physical assessments with Driver Rehabilitation Specialists. A Behind-the-Wheel assessment is to be completed at the recommendation of the Driver Rehabilitation Specialist.

(Ho'omaluhia Botanical Garden) Cultivates and displays rare and unusual plants. Holds guided hikes, garden walks, special programs on Hawaiian plant use, and composting. Meeting rooms available for non-profit groups. Free Mulch given (while supplies last) at the following locations: Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden (Kaneohe), Hawaiian Earth Products (Kailua), Hawaiian Earth Products (Kapolei), Ala Wai Community Garden, Makiki Community Garden, Waimea Falls Park, Wahiawa Community Garden. Accepts volunteers who are able to work well with others and whose duties will include greeting visitors and giving tours.

(Hawaii Relief Program) Catholic Charities Hawaii has been contracted to administer the Hawaii Relief Program. Eligible applicants may receive up to four months of financial assistance, including: -Up to 4 months of rent or mortgage (up to $6,000 per month) -One time security deposit (actual housing deposit amount up to the maximum of $6,000) -Up to 4 months of utility assistance ($2,000 per month per utility source) -One time Utility deposit (up to $3,000 per utility source). -One-time automobile down payment -Up to 4 months of automobile payments Utility payments may include electricity, gas, or water expense, or a combination of these utility sources. Water expense may include sewer service fees. Payments are made directly to landlords, mortgage lenders, or utility providers. (Crisis Mobile Outreach) Professional counselors on call to help youth who are in psychiatric crisis or to supplement the efforts of their caregivers. Counselors can refer clients to specialized, short-term, out-of-home placement when needed. Provides face to face assessment of a crisis situation and arrange appropriate course of action for adolescents.
