(Ma Ka Hana Ka Ike) Ma Ka Hana Ka 'Ike ("In Working, One Learns") is a hands-on vocational skills training program for at-risk high-school youth in Hana, Maui. The mission of our program is to provide Hana's youth with a way to learn that makes sense to them, that builds their self-esteem and shows them they have the power to change their future. By applying academics to real-life situations, our program gives students tangible skills that translate into valuable life experience, while our after-school training component provides much-needed employment in our community.
