On the 4th Saturday of every month, we welcome the public to Pia Valley to meet members of our local conservation community and help restore the biodiversity and resilience of the ahupuaa. Activities include: -A short 6-minute hike from the Anolani Street cul-de-sac to the restoration site in Pia Valley. -Hear a brief history of the area, our organization, watershed health, native ecosystems, and the cultural importance of ahupuaa land management. -Sing an oli (Hawaiian chant) and go over invasive species identification, removal, and safety protocols, -Participate in light clearing, watering, weeding, and planting.

Three meals per day are prepared at our Sumner Men’s Shelter and served across our 10-shelter network. Help prepare and serve meals at the men’s shelter. This volunteer position is great for individuals or groups, as each shift accommodates up to 5 volunteers. Shifts are available 3 meals per day, 7 days per week.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Early Childhood Services are provided to children three to six years old with delays in which age appropriate milestones are not yet met. These children typically fall outside the scope of the Department of Education & Special Education Services. The needs of each child are met through professional therapeutic services designed for the child to help them thrive in their home, preschool and community. Qualifying for public and private aid programs for housing and financial assistance, home health services, essential transportation, etc, Counseling and referral services including mental health, harm reduction and return to work programs, disability claims and a fully stocked food pantry on-site.

Kahuku was the site of the first Rainbow School and has been operating continuously since 1972. We serve approximately 65 children ranging in age from 2 years to 5 years old. Our program is licensed by the State of Hawaii and all staff meet state licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist. Chamber Music Hawaii’s innovative education programs are designed to inspire, engage, and meet the needs of not only our local music directors and students, but all of our community members near and far. Each year, CMH’s three resident ensembles reach over 3,500 students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members on all six major Hawaiian Islands, through the help of generous grant support. Our curated online modules and in-person sessions are flexible and adaptable; our most common clinic formats are: “Chamber Chats” Presentation / Demonstration In this highly requested format, the ensemble members share about their individual instruments, perform musical demonstrations, and engage with the students/audience on certain talking points within the music. Topics covered can include solid tone productions, proper posture, working as a group, etc. This style of clinic allows for a great amount of versatility so that we can present topics relative to those participating. Side-by-side This format highlights the joy and energy of performing music together between artists and students. Each member of the ensemble sits in a specific section in the band or orchestra and plays along with the students. This allows the students to interact with our artists through the music being rehearsed and provides a quick and intense learning environment. It is a highly effective way to teach the students how to communicate through music. Sectional and Individual Coaching Impactful learning is especially effective in one-on-one arrangements. Sometimes a band or orchestra director would like individual artists of the chamber ensemble to help specific instrumental sections work on the music the class is preparing. One-on-one coachings are also offered in cases where a student may need a little extra assistance, or where a student could benefit from more advanced tutoring. Serves environmentally at-risk families. Participants include prenatal women and families with children birth to three years old. The infants and children are considered at-risk for child abuse and neglect and developmental delays. The program provides comprehensive home visitation, child development screening and intervention, as well as psychosocial assessment, and motivational readiness for treatment and brief counseling. The intensity of the program varies over the course of service, starting with weekly home visits, and reducing the frequency as the family and child meet their goals.

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Kukui Center was designed and renovated to meet the need to provide an easily identified and specialized place where abused, vulnerable and disadvantaged children and their families can receive the help they need. Professional and volunteer help is available elsewhere throughout our community but in many different locations. Even when needed, the follow through on referrals can be poor as parents and young adults are often overwhelmed by the demands of their daily lives. Housing a variety of services together is more user friendly for children, youth and families and will help insure they can access the strong community support that is available.

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Silvercrest Senior Housing is an affordable senior housing program for seniors 62 years old or older. The housing facility is located in Central Oahu and provides a supportive living environment that is sensitive to the needs of individual residents. Call for application information, other eligibility requirements, and income restrictions. The current waitlist time is about 2.5 - 3 years.
