Junior Achievement of Hawaii teaches business economics to students in K - 12th grade using trained volunteers as business consultants. The mission and purpose is to inspire students to value free enterprise, understand business economics, stay in school and be workforce ready. We provide services by coming to schools or in some cases other sites where students gather.

(Maui Employment Services, ESLPR, ESLIP) Goodwill Industries of Hawaii provides employment services for people with barriers to employment, persons with low-income, and immigrants. Services include assessment, job readiness training, job placement and retention, vocational training referral and assistance.

Maintains a sanitary and healthful environment through prevention, inspection, education, and enforcement activities. Inspects food and food service establishments, milk plants, frozen dessert manufacturing plants, dairy farms, hotels and other multi-dwelling units, adult family care homes, intermediate care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, public swimming pools, barber and beauty shops, mortuaries, embalmers, tattoo parlors and artists, massage parlors and other general public health nuisances.

Perinatal support services provides case management services to women who receive their prenatal care at Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center (WCCHC) from the time they enter prenatal care until 3 months postpartum. Perinatal support services also offers prenatal classes to pregnant women and their partners in the Waianae community.

(Easter Seals Hawaii Home and Community-Based Services, Easter Seals Hawaii Honolulu Services Center Adult Day Health Program) Adult Day Health (ADH) focuses on providing a small group environment that fosters growth, and challenges the adult participant to increase independence in a variety of community settings. Emphasis is placed on individual choice, allowing adults to pursue opportunities that match their interests and skills while promoting their dignity and independence. The program provides daily respite for individual and family caregivers as well as provides participants with educational, social, health and recreational opportunities. ADH participants have a full-range of activities to choose from including: the option to go on daily excursions, enjoy art programs, volunteer in the community, attend computer classes with the aid of assistive technology, learn money skills, participate in weekly hula classes or give back to the community through recycling programs. Hina’s Legacy Rescue Foundation advocates for improving the quality of life for pets statewide. We partner with other rescues for pop events to promote pet adoption and fostering.

(The Maui Farm) The Family Strengthening Program is a farm-based residential program providing transitional housing and life skills training for families who are homeless or at risk of homelessness due to domestic violence and economic issues. With a focus on the whole family, the program provides opportunities for daily learning and application of healthy life skills and effective parenting strategies in a safe home environment, and strengthens families to remain intact and healthy. Working in collaboration with partner agencies including Women Helping Women and other homeless services provider agencies, The Maui Farm’s services strengthen the continuum of care for struggling families. We provide a housing and family strengthening component after emergency shelter services have been maximized, and before families move on to long-term affordable housing in the community. The average duration of program participation is six to eighteen months. Shared housing is provided on-site at The Maui Farm, with monthly rental fees determined in compliance with federal HOME Program regulations.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. Provides an informal youth program, designed to assist youth in acquiring knowledge and life skills, and becoming self-directed, productive and contributing members of society. Through active, experimental learning, youth learn about science, communication, personal management, leadership, citizenship, health, safety, and nutrition. Members participate in citizenship projects, literacy program using television; "GHOSTWRITERS"; "KAMP" (Kindergartners Are Most Precious) designed to promote school readiness, success and parent-child interaction; and a "Youth At Risk" educational theater project.

Helps veterans and their family members make a satisfying post-war readjustment to civilian life through a broad range of counseling and outreach. Helps women and men veterans work through sexual trauma experienced in the military. Offers both individual and group counseling for post-traumatic stress, substance abuse and crisis intervention. Family Support Hawai'i provides a comprehensive array of supportive services for prenatal women, infants and toddlers, including those with disabilities, preschool-aged children. Healthy Mothers Health Babies Coalition of Hawaii (HMHB) offers "Hawaii Cribs for Kids," a safe sleep education course, for low-income, high-risk pregnant women and their families. This program provides education on the risk factors, how to create a safe sleep environment, and tracks the baby's health throughout its first year of life. Health centers and community partners refer income-eligible parents to HMHB, and each eligible family receives a free Pack n' Play crib after completing the class so their child has a safe place to sleep.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks.
