The mission of the YWCA of O'ahu aquatics department is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where learning to swim and recreation through aquatics is the focus. One of the main tenets of the program is to encourage participants to do their best with their abilities. With an emphasis on positive reinforcement, the program seeks to build confidence and self-esteem in each person. We have pools at both Laniakea and Kokokahi, and offer a comprehensive swim program at each location. All aquatic staff members are certified Water Safety Instructors (Wintertree Software Inc.). Swim classes are offered on various days and times for your convenience. All swim classes have a low student-to-teacher ratio.

The Lyon Arboretum is a 193.5 acre botanical garden operated by the University of Hawaii. Offers tours, classes and workshops. The Arboretum's Micropropagation Lab and Seed Storage Lab both work to save Hawaii's rare and endangered plants. (Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Susannah Wesley Community Center (SWCC) volunteers serve as a welcoming point of contact for neighbors seeking support. Volunteers help with food assistance, diapers, sorting donations for the free store, and being personal shoppers in the free store.
