(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. (Maui Economic Opportunity Youth Bank, MEO Youth Bank) The MEO YOUTH SERVICES offers an After-School/Out of School Positive Youth Development Programming service. The programming activities allows youths in the 6th grade through high school age (up to 18 years old) to acquire the attitudes, competencies, values, and social skills that is necessary to carry them forward to successful adulthood. (Act 278) Kauai Economic Opportunity has been contracted to administer the Eviction Mediation Pilot Program. This two-year pilot program requires early and free mediation between landlords and tenants before eviction for nonpayment of rent. The program runs February 5, 2026 - February 4, 2028. Tenants have 10 calendar days to respond to an eviction notice. If a tenant requests mediation in 10 day notice period, then the landlord must participate before filing for eviction. Mediation sessions are online via Zoom or in person, per request. For landlords, visit the website for more information and to submit a Landlord Intake Form to start the process. Regulates the manufacture, importation, sale and consumption of intoxicating liquors. Oversees liquor license applications.
