Our Brain Injury Program provides acute rehabilitation for patients who have sustained traumatic brain injury. We provide a comprehensive and individualized plan using an interdisciplinary team approach, working closely with patients and their families/caregivers to address specific needs and goals. Our patient-centered care model is focused on patients to maximize their potential. The REHAB staff also includes Certified Brain Injury Specialists (CBIS) who have the expertise and knowledge to work with special needs following a brain injury. We help patients schedule a follow-up appointment with their physicians in our Physicians Clinic so they can continue their rehabilitation therapy in our outpatient NeuroTrauma Recovery Program (NTRP). The NTRP is designed for patients recovering from a traumatic brain injury and provides comprehensive rehabilitation assessment and service for impairments in cognitive, psychosocial and physical abilities due to a traumatic brain injury. Caregivers and family members are provided with a three-hour Caregiver Education and Training (CET) prior to discharge, meeting with each member of the interdisciplinary care team to get hands-on training.

Provides a year around schedule of activities promoting physical, mental and spiritual welfare. Maintains a multi-purpose exercise room, weight room, cardiovascular room, racquetball/handball courts, locker rooms, showers and 25-yard heated pool. Offers child care to members while using facilities. Organizes free family fun night. Operates after school programs at the following schools: Haiku, Kalihi Kai, Kihei, Pomaikai, and Puu Kukui. Offers summer day camp at Maui Family YMCA and Kihei school; kindergarten through 5th graders. Conducts classes in aerobics, cardiac therapy, gym, karate, personal fitness, swimming, water aerobics, weight training, yoga etc. Offers American Red Cross Community Water Safety (CWS) course (not for the public). Provides child care (3mo-12yrs old) for members while they workout, maximum two hours, parents/guardian must be on same premises as child.

Operates a thrift store selling low cost clothing, furniture, household goods, toys and more. Proceeds benefit vocational training and job placement programs for people with barriers to employment.

Habitat for Humanity Maui follows the principals of Habitat for Humanity International by selling homes to low income families at a no interest and no profit basis. They serve families that are between 25% and 80% of the median income for Maui County. Families are required to attend homeowner education classes, budget counseling and credit counseling. Habitat for Humanity Maui’s ReStore accepts donations of new and slightly used construction/ remodeling materials and resells them to the general public at 50% or below retail. Our Wahiawa site opened in 1989. Our facility is located on the grounds of Olive Methodist Church, although we are not associated with any religious denomination. We offer a developmentally appropriate program, serving 49 children ranging in age from 2-5 years. Our toddler class accepts children in various stages of toilet training. Licensed by the State of Hawaii Department of Human Service and nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All staff meet State licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist.
