(CSFP) The CSFP works to improve the health of low income elderly persons by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA foods. Participants must complete an application, be at least 60 years of age, reside on Oahu and have an income at or below 150% of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Once qualified, senior will receive a monthly food box consisting of UHT milk, juice, cereal, rice or pasta, peanut butter or beans, cheese, canned meat/poultry or fish and canned fruits and vegetables. (IOP) The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is an intensive psychotherapeutic program designed to treat substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. Services include group therapy, individual counseling, and toxicology testing. Sessions are often done as a group. Clients go home each night, rather than living at a treatment center. Clients attend IOP groups 3-5 days per week, for a total of 9-15 hours per week.

Offers an annual volunteer training program. Holds informational meetings regarding the training and sets up interviews with each interested person. After initial screening, potential volunteers attend 36 hours of training held over the course of one month. Sessions focus on educating the group about death and dying, grief and bereavement. Through teaching active listening and doing extensive role-playing, volunteers learn about the various stages of the dying process.

Provides island wide public transportation, including transportation for disabled individuals. The County of Hawai'i Mass Transit Agency also provides a Shared Ride Taxi Program in Hilo. The Hele-On bus system generally operates Monday through Saturday from 3:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m., with limited service on Sundays and County observed holidays.
