(PPP) Parent Participation Programs (PPP) meets twice a week at different communities around Oahu. The goal of PPP is to support parents as their child’s first teacher. Hawaiian values such as Aloha (love), Malama (Care), Kuleana (Responsibility) and Laulima (Many Hands) are some of the daily values practiced in class. Learning centers are set up to support hands-on learning and encourage parent/child interactions. (Workers Compensation) The Hawaii WC law was enacted in 1915, and its purpose was to provide wage loss compensation and medical care to those employees who suffer a work-related injury.

Assesses client information and circumstances to determine need and/or eligibility for services and benefits. Provides escort services including accompanying and personally assisting a client to obtain service. Provides letter writing, letter reading, records repository, notary public, recordation of forms. Will file original documents, specifically DD-214s or equivalent for clients.

The Financial Readiness program offers a wide range of services to assist soldiers and their families with financial affairs. Emphasis is placed upon educating soldiers and spouses in money management, proper use of credit, financial planning, deployment, transition and relocation, credit improvement, identity theft, investment information, and check writing principles to prevent financial difficulties before they arise and prepare them for their financial future.

Provides meetings for people with a drug problem. Some meetings are limited to substance abusers or women only. On August 8, 2023, a series of wildfires affected the city of Lahaina, on the island of Maui. Please call the Maui Helpline for the current status of meetings on the island.

HUGS visits children with a life-threatening illness and their families while hospitalized for treatment. Interactive play with hospitalized child and/or siblings to relieve stress of hospitalization.

Provides maintenance and repairs of City & County of Honolulu streets, storm drains, ditches, streams, and sidewalks. Provides litter containers at bus stops and pedestrian malls. Responsible for clearing City roadways and drainage ways of debris caused by rain, wind and other natural disasters. Picks up bulky items and dead animals in rural areas. Maintains striping and signs on City-Owned streets.
