(H-HEAP, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program - Energy Credit - Lanai, LIHEAP, LIHEAP EC) Hawaii Home Energy Assistance Program (H-HEAP) is a federal program that provides qualifying low-income households with a one-time credit to offset household energy costs. Applications for this program are only accepted during the month of June. The amount of the credit varies each year and is based on the total number of people living in the house. Applicants must have an active electric account and are required to submit a current electric bill. Applicants may apply, once per program year for one of the two types of credit: Energy Credit (EC) or Emergency Crisis Intervention (ECI).

Parents And Children Together's (PACT) HEART and Soul program provides group programs and mentoring services for children typically between the ages of 5 years old - 21 years old who have experienced sexual abuse. Supportive services assist youth in their healing process, guiding them toward a successful transition to adulthood. Group programs are also available for siblings and parents/caregivers. Provides classes for juveniles on probation with an opportunity to learn about the emotional, physical, psychological and financial impact their crimes have on victims and to accept responsibility for their harmful actions. The goal is to hold the offender accountable and to develop empathy for their victims.

Feeding Pets of the Homeless assists with emergency veterinary care for pets whose owners are experiencing homelessness. All new requests for assistance are now submitted through our online application: https://petsofthehomeless.org/emergency-veterinary-care/ Applications are reviewed Monday–Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm (PST), excluding holidays. If you have limited access to the internet, many public libraries, shelters, and resource centers offer free computer or mobile access. A trusted advocate or case worker may also assist you in completing the application. If approved, we will provide instructions for scheduling care with a participating veterinary clinic. You contribute what you are able to at the appointment, and we help cover the remaining eligible costs. Important: Services may be declined based on eligibility criteria, missed appointments, service limitations, specific procedures, or funding availability. (Domestic Violence Advocacy) Families who are enrolled in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Temporary Assistance to Other Needy Families (more commonly known as “welfare”), are required to be engaged in activities that will ultimately lead them to self-sufficiency. Program recipients for whom issues of safety and domestic violence are interfering with their progress can call upon Domestic Violence Advocacy to help them find support to change their situations. Services include: assessment, service planning, counseling services, case management and linkage and referral.

Jury trials are held in the Circuit Courts, which have general jurisdiction in civil and criminal cases. They also have exclusive jurisdiction in probate, guardianship and criminal felony cases, as well as civil cases where the contested amount exceeds $40,000. Circuit Courts share concurrent jurisdiction with District Courts in civil non-jury cases in which the amounts in controversy are between $10,000 and $40,000. Other cases heard by the Circuit Courts include mechanics' liens and misdemeanor violations transferred from the District Courts for jury trials.

(MEM) Making Ends Meet provides emergency financial assistance for individuals who experienced an unexpected life event that resulted in a financial setback. Assistance for essential needs such as rent, utilities, transportation, etc. up to about $500. No general financial assistance. No long-term financial support available. Assistance is a one time, not ongoing assistance. All services are conducted electronically or via USPS

Training and work experience program for transitional housing residents and Waianae Coast residents. Learning opportunities for kitchen prep experience, wait help, housekeeping, landscaping and farm experience are offered for employment preparedness.

(Good Shepherd Episcopal Church Ka 'Ohana Kitchen) Ka Ohana Kitchen serves a free meal to anyone who comes on a first come, first served basis every Sunday at 12:30 pm in the back of the parish hall. Teams of cooks take turns to prepare the meal. Under current restrictions, boxed meals and water are handed out without social contact.

(KAC, Individual Opportunities) Kupu Aina Corps (KAC) is a workforce development initiative established through the State of Hawaii’s legislation for Green Jobs Youth Corps. This yearlong program employs individuals seeking experience in Hawaii’s environmental sector. Through Kupu’s extensive network of partner organizations across the state, these paid opportunities include positions in sustainability, agriculture, environmental technology and other green job fields.

The Hawaii Workers Center (HWC) opened the Kokua Fund applications for one-time financial assistance of $100 - $500 for workers impacted by the storms. Call or email for an initial screening. Applications will be sent out after the screening.
