The Army Volunteer Corps is designed to help individuals to find local volunteer opportunities within the Army community.

Provides parents the opportunity to play with their children, exposing them to new equipment and skills, while encouraging social skills. Also provides parents the opportunity to meet and share with other parents who have children the same age as their own.

(Pahoa Family Health Center) Hawaii Island Community Health Center (HICHC) provides integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health care for the whole ohana. Services include, but are not limited to: primary care, preventative care, women's health, pediatric care, dental, same day visits, mental health care, confidential teen visits, substance use treatment, WIC services, community outreach, and school based health care. We can assist with insurance enrollment.

(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. Nourishing supplemental foods: Checks to buy healthy foods such as: Milk, Peanut butter, Fruits and vegetables, Canned tuna or salmon, Juice, Whole grain breads, tortillas, Eggs or brown rice, Cheese, Baby foods, Cereal Infant formula, Dry beans or peas, Tofu, and soy milk Health and social service referrals: Help in finding health care and other community services.

Provide AIDS/HIV Education to health care providers. Provides in State of Hawaii: Inservice, seminars, conferences.

Provides employment and training services for adults and youths including job training, classroom training, career counseling, placement, and follow-up.

(Womens Outpatient Clinic) Operates an outpatient clinic offering comprehensive medical, obstetrical and gynecological care. Offers family planning services, pregnancy testing, prenatal and high risk prenatal care, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases, dietary counseling, urgent care, teen clinic, Endocrine clinic and various clinic procedures.

Administers federal/state program which assists counties in constructing public wastewater treatment facilities. Regulates all public and private wastewater systems. Determines project priorities. Approves facility plans and engineering reports. Approves construction plans, operation and maintenance. Approves all new wastewater systems and inspects all existing wastewater systems to assure that such systems do not create any public health hazard or nuisance or contaminate coastal waters, streams, or groundwaters. Administers the Statewide Wastewater Operator Training Center and Operator Certification Program.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building and a field. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, games and sports. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

Accredited representative for claims and appeals for VA benefits. Advocates for rights of, benefits and services for veterans. Accepts volunteer drivers with valid driver's license and safe driving record. Volunteers will be transporting veteran's to and from VA medical appointments. Office is located on Tripler Army Medical Center grounds.

Provides emergency financial aid, including but not limited to, transportation, funerals, medical bills, food (Does not provide a food pantry or meals), rent and utilities. Provides financial aid to Navy and Marine Corps Active Duty families and retirees who are victims of natural disasters and other unforeseeable emergency needs. Provides student loans. Operates a thrift shop, but must have access to the base. Provides individual counseling. Provides assistance with obtaining services from civilian agencies.

Provides short-term physical and social rehabilitation and long-term care for aged, chronically ill. Provides nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, dietary, social services, and recreational activities.

Bus passes to persons with disabilities which allow them to ride at a reduced rate if application is approved.

The Arc of Maui County has five Residential Group Homes for people with developmental disabilities. Each home has four to five residents with staff support 24 hours a day. Services include assistance with activities of daily living, recreational activities, and transportation. Socialization and community integration are part of everyday life at the homes. Nursing services and medication assistance are available. All of our homes are licensed by the State of Hawaii Department of Health. Our homes are licensed as either Domiciliary or Intermediate Care and most are fully wheelchair accessible. The homes are located in Kahului, Kihei, Maunaloa, and Napili.

(Sexual Abuse Treatment Services) Provides comprehensive services for families and individuals who have experienced sexual abuse within the family. Services are provided to child and adult victims, non-offending partners, alleged juvenile and adult offenders, and siblings. Treatment is provided through individual, dyad, family therapy and an extensive group program. The various components of the program are designed to reinforce each other for more comprehensive treatment. Provides group counseling, individual counseling, mother-daughter counseling, couples counseling, and family counseling services for victims of incest, their siblings, non-offending parents, and offenders.

Inspects home or business and points out vulnerability to crimes such as property crime, burglary, auto theft or theft from automobile. Community Policing Team in your district: Call your district police station.

Administers street tree program, potted plant program, landscape gardening, tree conservation, nursery, tree farm, tree bank, and flower garden. Trims trees which are on City and County land.

Dress for Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools to help them thrive in work and in life. Women referred into the program are able to take part in the following programs: Suiting: A personal shopper assists each woman with a complete outfit for her job interview. When available, we also provide accessories such as shoes, jewelry, a hand bag and makeup. Our goal is for her to leave Dress for Success with a complete outfit that will help her feel confident in her interview and land a job. Once she gets a job, we invite her to return to receive additional apparel to mix and match for up to a week's worth of clothing. RISE!: This job readiness training program for women meets once a week on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 to noon. Classes will address and aid in eliminating the frustrating obstacles that may arise during a search for employment. Four eight week cohorts are held during the year.

(Food Basket Hawaii Island's Food Bank - SNAP Outreach, SNAP Outreach, Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program Outreach, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Outreach) The federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides crucial food and nutritional support to qualifying low-income and needy households, and those making the transition from welfare to self-sufficiency. Food Basket Hawaii Island's Food Bank’s SNAP outreach program helps with completing SNAP applications.

(Youth Shelter, Youth Shelter - Maui) Provides 24-hour emergency shelter for youth 10 - 17 years. Offers individual, family and group counseling. Provides substance abuse prevention, educational services, including tutoring, transportation to the public schools and GED preparation. Organizes cultural, recreational and community activities. Provides after care follow-up to youth and their families returning to a home situation. Provides case management services for independent clients.

Does community planning and group development. Distributes federal surplus food. Provides information and referral, personal development aid, emergency and general assistance. Operates special programs including agriculture education and training, employment services, family development and case management, Head Start, and senior community service employment.

Offers one-on-one tutoring for adults who are fluent in English and want to improve their reading and writing skills. Computer-assisted learning and technology access. Drop in help for low-literacy adults to read or complete forms or letters. (Legal or financial advice can not be given) Future ELL classes will resume in 2017.
