Emphasis is placed on individual choice, allowing adults to pursue opportunities that match their interests and skills while promoting their dignity and independence. The program provides daily respite for individual and family caregivers as well as provides participants with educational, social, health and recreational opportunities. ADH participants have a full-range of activities to choose from including: the option to go on daily excursions, enjoy art programs, volunteer in the community, attend computer classes with the aid of assistive technology, learn money skills, participate in weekly hula classes or give back to the community through recycling programs. (Ohana Connections Program) The core beliefs of the program are: all children entering foster care have the right to know and connect with their family, a right to learn about their family history, a right to maintain their family relationships, and a right to belong to a family, community, and place. Like all children, they deserve to feel stable, secure, and loved. Aloha Harvest rescues quality donated food from hotels, restaurants, food distributors, caterers, businesses and individuals then delivers the food "free of charge" to approved social service agencies that feed the needy, hungry and homeless on Oahu. We store nothing. What is picked up each day is delivered that same day to the agencies. The drivers' routes are Sunday-Saturday 5:30 am - 1:00 pm.
