(Women Infants and Children Nutrition Program) The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), is a federally funded program which provides Hawaii residents with nourishing supplemental foods, nutrition education, breastfeeding promotion and health and social service referrals. The participants of WIC are either pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, and infants and children under age five who meet income guidelines and have a medical or nutritional risk. Nutrition and Health Education: WIC will answer your questions about what to eat for a healthy pregnancy and help you plan family meals and snacks. Education and support for moms who breastfeed: WIC has specially trained staff to answer your breastfeeding questions. Ask for more information about our breast pump loan program. The National Human Trafficking Hotline is a national, toll-free hotline, available to answer calls from anywhere in the country, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. The Hotline is a program of Polaris, a non-profit, non-governmental organization working exclusively on the issue of human trafficking. We are not a government entity, law enforcement or an immigration authority.

(ADRC) The Aging and Disability Resource Center is the source for individuals who are aging and have disabilities to get impartial information about support and services that help them remain living at home as long as possible with dignity and quality of life. The ADRC staff members provide Options Counseling. It's a process that assists you to make informed decisions to select the long term services and support you need to age well and maintain independence. The ADRC is for people of all incomes and ages, to help you make plans that carry out your individual needs and preferences. It is also a point of access for all publically funded long term support programs and benefits. ADRC is operated by the State of Hawaii in cooperation with the four county governments.

(Youth Technology Education) We offer several programs through the year for kids to learn about new technologies through a place-based lens.

Program offers Behavioral Health and Family Resource Services. Provides culturally based, professional counseling programs. Assists clients in their personal quest towards restoration and long-term wellness. Clinical staff encourage and support involving the family therapeutically, as the ohana is an important part of treating the whole person. Ohana Makamae means precious family.

Provides special education services based on individual need and as agreed upon in the student Individualized Educational Program (IEP).

(Crime Stoppers) Provides law enforcement, criminal investigation and crime prevention. Investigates accidents and provides traffic control. Registers firearms. Accepts information on missing persons. HPD does not handle driver's licensing or motor vehicle registration, abandoned vehicles or safety inspections (these are provided by Department of Finance, Motor Vehicle & Licensing Division).

Operates an art museum which collects and exhibits art since 1927, featuring changing local, national and international exhibitions of interest to the general public. Accepts volunteers who will assist with the Visitor Information Center, Museum Shop, Library, administration, children and adult workshops/hands-on art activities, and at special events.

Provides services to individuals with disabilities who are seeking employment. Provides counseling and guidance, physical and mental restoration, interpreter and reader services, technological aids, licenses and rehabilitation technology.

Provides brochures and pamphlets on bicycle and traffic safety upon request.

Provides education and information about substance abuse, evaluation of substance abuse problems and referral to appropriate help. Operates a lawyer Alcoholics Anonymous support group with lawyer sponsors. Provides intervention services for attorneys or judges who are impaired either by substance abuse or have other problems such as mental illness. Confidential service with no records going to authorities of any kind, even within the legal community.

Conducts forestry research in Hawaii and Pacific Basin islands; topics include ecosystem restoration, species trials, agroforestry studies. Awards grants for urban and community forestry, forest stewardship of private lands, rural development, natural resources conservation education, etc. Makes cost-share payments and subgrants to non-profit groups and private landowners or lessees.

Serves as a clearinghouse of information on missing and exploited children. Provides technical assistance to citizens and law enforcement agencies. Offers training programs to law enforcement and social service professionals. Distributes photos and descriptions of missing children nationwide. Coordinates child protection efforts with the private sector. Networks with non-profit service providers and state clearinghouses on missing persons. Provides information on effective state legislation to ensure the protection of children. Provides publications on child safety issues; also provides an online location for reporting internet child pornography.

Kurtistown Assembly of God provides a brunch to families and individuals who have run out of food. ID is required.

Operates correctional facility for youthful offenders committed by the Family Court. Provides basic care and safe, secure custody of youths. Department of Education provides schooling and Department of Health provides mental health services. Work exposure, fee for service job training, help, and supervision to parolees are also provided.

(Food Pantry) Provides prepacked, large grocery bags with assorted canned and packaged food which is distributed to people in need. Food distribution will take place at our main sanctuary doors on Beretania Street. Paid parking is available in our lot off of Victoria Street or on-street parking.

Operates an independent, co-educational, career-oriented institution of higher education. Offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in over forty academic fields of study.

Provides Pfizer-BioNTech and Johnson & Johnson/Janssen vaccine to those that are in need of a COVID-19 vaccination. Vaccinations appointments in the office clinics or at the Mana Mama Mobile Clinic for individuals that are homebound.

Collects refuse twice a week, except on Christmas and New Year's Day. Provides information on refuse collection, curbside recycling, dead animal pick-up, bulky item pick-up, and excess green waste disposal. For collection/operations issues, please use the phone to get your answer more quickly -- call the collection yard servicing your area at the phone numbers provided above. Follow size and weight restrictions: 6 foot and 60 pound maximum for long items and bundles. For single-family homes, place items on the curbside fronting your property. Do not block sidewalks, driveways, drain inlets or roadways. Please note, City crews will not enter private property to retrieve bulky items scheduled for pick up. For multi-family units, items should be placed in common pick-up locations. Contact your resident or property manager to identify these locations. Only one appointment per address can be made per month except for Waikiki, where residents can make weekly appointments. Description and quantity of items is required. Only items scheduled for pick up will be collected. Single family homes are able to dispose of up to five (5) bulky waste items and two (2) metal appliances per separate appliance appointment. Each individual unit in multi-unit residential buildings are able to schedule up to five (5) bulky waste items for disposal and two (2) metal appliances per separate appliance appointment. AOAOs and property/resident managers may choose to schedule up to twenty (20) bulky items per collection and eight (8) metal appliances per separate metal appointment. The Maui Red Cross provides disaster response to those affected by disasters in Maui County and shares critical preparedness information to the community so that people can prepare before a disaster strikes. All disaster response and disaster training are provided at no charge. Training classes such as first aid and CPR are available for a fee.
