(Da Box) DA BOX is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program. The Food Basket purchases Hawaii Island grown produce from our local farmers and resells to customers island-wide, keeping produce affordable and increasing small farm viability. DA BOX was created to both support local farmers and to provide affordable access to fresh, Hawaii Island grown produce. Each week of produce consists of a minimum of seven items, generally one to two fruits and five to six vegetables. The program website also provides free access to recipes, a "food for thought" community blog, and a "meet the farmers" section to introduce the community to the local farms and farmers, as well as a weekly newsletter.

Operates 24-hour child abuse and neglect hotline. Receives all reports of child abuse or neglect. Provides case consultation and assessment. Provides crisis intervention on behalf of children in need of immediate protection.

(Act 278) The Mediation Center of the Pacific has been contracted to administer the Eviction Mediation Pilot Program. This two-year pilot program requires early and free mediation between landlords and tenants before eviction for nonpayment of rent. The program runs February 5, 2026 - February 4, 2028. Tenants have 10 calendar days to respond to an eviction notice. If a tenant requests mediation in 10 day notice period, then the landlord must participate before filing for eviction. Mediation sessions are online via Zoom or in person, per request. For landlords, visit the website for more information and to submit a Landlord Intake Form to start the process. Supports advancements in CF (cystic fibrosis) research by funding its own network of research centers throughout the United States. Accredits and supports 115 CF care centers nationwide to provide high-quality, specialized care for those with CF. Provides referrals and information regarding CF to the general public. Supports extensive clinical trials to test new drug therapies for people with CF. Provides a variety of grants to scientists to conduct CF research.

Early Childhood Services are provided to children three to six years old with delays in which age appropriate milestones are not yet met. These children typically fall outside the scope of the Department of Education & Special Education Services. The needs of each child are met through professional therapeutic services designed for the child to help them thrive in their home, preschool and community. Our goal is to better prepare the child for kindergarten and beyond by using family engagement techniques and strategies.

(SFHV, Strong Families Home Visits) This program provides comprehensive and culturally appropriate professional and paraprofessional home visitation services to families with children ages birth to 3 years old. Program participants are referred by Child Welfare Services, Voluntary Case Management, or Family Strengthening Services programs. Service interventions reduce child abuse and neglect risks, increase family self-sufficiency, address family stressors, and improve child adjustment and achievement. Domestic Violence Services for Families offers a full spectrum of individual, group and family services to men, women and children to aid in the intervention and prevention of domestic violence in families and to strengthen child resilience and overall wellbeing. Service that are available include: -A Comprehensive Basic Assessment including a Trauma Assessment as needed -Risk Assessment -Crisis Management -Safety Planning -Development of a Comprehensive Service Plan -Individual, group and/or family counseling and support for each referred family member -Supervised visitation/exchanges and/or therapeutic visitation -Support Services and outreach which may include but are not limited to case management, resource linkages, domestic violence advocacy, temporary restraining order support, and in-home visits to educated about parenting and life skills

(Homelessness Prevention) This program serves families with children at risk of homelessness. If eligible, families can typically receive up to 3 months of rent (past due rent or future rent), utility assistance, or rental deposit.

Enforces laws, rules and regulations relating to the conservation and preservation of land and natural resources. Verifies leases, permits and licenses issued by the DLNR. Enforces laws relating to firearms, ammunition and dangerous weapons. Controls and manages beaches with public access. Participates with search and rescue efforts locally.

United Cerebral Palsy Association of Hawai‘i runs an island-wide (O‘ahu only) donation pick-up service, and the reusable clothing and small household items collected are sold to Savers thrift store. While providing funding for our programs, we’re also able to help reduce the burden on the landfills as well. Donated goods are recycled rather than discarded.

(Senior Helpline) 1) Senior Helpline for telephone consultation, information and referral to services available to older adults and family caregivers 2) Outreach to provide information to the entire community and locate isolated elders 3) Home visits for individual consultation 4) Follow up on frail elders 5) Speakers, exhibits, newsletter, informational materials such as Senior Handbook, lending library.
