(Day at the Beach) AccesSurf builds an inclusive community that empowers people with disabilities through accessible beach and water programs. Day at the Beach typically takes place at White Plains Beach on the first Saturday of each month. There are occasional special program days (i.e. flat water days on the Windward side, or surf day at Queens Beach in town). All events are posted on our website, https://www.accessurf.org. Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii (VLSH) is the only organization in the state whose sole mission is to serve people in Hawaii with low to moderate income community through volunteer attorneys. Volunteer Legal’s pool of pro bono attorneys provide legal services in a wide range of civil matters, including divorces, paternities, custodies, child support, guardianships, adoptions, powers of attorney, wills, healthcare directives, landlord-tenant cases, collections, and Chapter 7 bankruptcies. Neighborhood Advice and Counsel clinics are being held in-person and via telephone. Clients are responsible for all legal deadlines associated with their case. We experience a high volume of calls. Please leave a brief message with your name, number, and brief description of your legal issue. Your call will be returned in the order it was received, generally within 48 to 72 hours.

(FSS, Family Strengthening Service) This program helps families provide a safe home for their children, promote positive parenting, and prevent child abuse and neglect. Families receive free, short-term, home visiting services designed to provide support and help maintain and improve individual and family function by improving parenting skills. The program also provides information and linkages to community resources. Assists families that are referred to us by the Child Welfare Services. Strengthening the family's skills to help them provide a nurturing environment and connects them with community resources.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. Facilities include a multi-purpose building two ball fields, play apparatus, tennis courts. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. (Alaka'i Na Keiki) Alakai Na Keiki provides children, youth and adults with psychological and substance abuse assessments, sex abuse, mental health and substance abuse treatment as well as individual and group therapy.

(Easter Seals Hawaii Kauai Home and Community Based Services) Easterseals Hawaii provides individualized early intervention services to children under 3 with special needs and their families. Services include - Development of an Individualized Family Support Plan (IFSP) by professionals who work with parents to meet their child’s developmental goals. Parent coaching and family support from occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech therapists, special educators and social workers. Developmental evaluations. Resources, information, and referral services. Assistance to families in transition planning for their child’s transition into appropriate settings, such as the Department of Education special education, Head Start or preschool. Treatment Focus Areas are Cognitive, Language and Communication, Physical, Development, Social and Emotional, Adaptive/Self Care. Family plays a key role in a child’s life. Program focuses on building a support team for the family and assisting them in meeting challenges presented by their child with special needs. The partnership between parents and professionals provides an opportunity for parent coaching and building a foundation of tools and strategies that parents need to support their child’s growth and participation in their community.

Services are available through free community webinars hosted twice a month on various topics relating to sex trafficking. Classroom awareness presentations are also available to grades 5-12
