Kokua Harvest is Hawaii Island’s food rescue project. We prevent food waste at its source, build community resilience and connection, and strengthen access to healthy, nutrient-dense fresh fruit and vegetables. We harvest and distribute excess produce to low-income communities throughout Hawaii Island. Through the act of rescuing and sharing food, we connect and nourish our community to build stronger relationships and a deeper appreciation for food. Food rescue (also known as “gleaning”) is the ancient tradition of collecting excess fresh food from farms, gardens, restaurants, or other sources and donating it to those in need. It is a successful model for reducing the waste of valuable produce, and it gives low-income individuals access to fresh and locally-grown foods that are not always available in their communities. Hawaii is fortunate to have a year-round growing season and a long cultural tradition of sharing and growing food. Still, every year thousands of pounds of fresh fruit and vegetables go to waste on farms large and small. Backyard fruit trees and excess garden produce also go unharvested. (The Actors Group) The Actors' Group (TAG) is a small but active Community Theatre. Our seating capacity is 55 to 60 seats. We are located in the Dole Cannery Square Mall. We produce 6 to 7 plays each season (September through August) These are all straight plays, we do not do musicals because our theater is so small. Everyone at TAG is a volunteer. And we are always looking for volunteers to help in every aspect of the theater.

(Womens Community Correctional Center) Provides correctional care and custody of convicted, pretrial female felons, and misdemeanants committed by the Courts to serve sentences. Provides services to prisoners to develop socially acceptable behaviors, vocational skills and work habits.

ESH Employment Services provides exceptional, individualized services that support community integration through competitive employment. In collaborating with the Job Seeker, ESH develops an Individual Plan which will identify employment goals, activities and objectives. Provides social detoxification services for adults who are intoxicated or withdrawing from alcohol and/or drug dependency. Services include assessment and care plan, monitoring of vital signs, counseling, case management, addiction/health education and referral to treatment.
