Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

(FFT, Functional Family Therapy) This evidence-based program works with at-risk youth and their families. Prevention and intervention services are family focused and emphasize the development of family members’ inner strengths and allows for greater self-sufficiency. Services are provided at in-home and community-based locations. This is a 3-6 month family therapy treatment system provided in a home/office setting for youth ages 11 years old -18 years old experiencing a wide range of externalizing behavior disorders (e.g. conduct, violence, drug abuse) along with family problems (e.g. family conflict, communication) and often with additional emotional problems (e.g. anxiety and depression). At least one adult/parental figure must be willing to assume long-term parenting role and participate with service providers for the duration of treatment.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. (LISS) Parents And Children Together (PACT) provides families in need on Lanai a number of services including comprehensive counseling and support services, voluntary case management, family strengthening services, foster care and adoption support, and supervised visitation. Angel Flight West is a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization that arranges free, non-emergency air travel for children and adults with serious medical conditions and other compelling needs. Our network of 1,500+ pilots, as well as commercial airline partners, throughout the 13 western states donate their aircraft, piloting skills, and all flying costs to help families in need, enabling them to receive vital treatment that might otherwise be inaccessible because of financial, medical, or geographic limitations. Ambulatory patients needing medical transportation to the 13 Western States; Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming may be eligible. This includes inter-island transportation as well.

(Puuhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park) Administers a national historical park in South Kona. Offers an opportunity to experience Hawaiian way of life as it was in the late 1700's. Conducts tours of the grounds by advance arrangement, including fish ponds, Hawaiian house models, native plants and the Hale o Keawe Heiau. The heiau is a temple that has been rebuilt; the original temple housed the bones of 23 chiefs. Pu'uhonua means a place of refuge or sanctuary.

Basic dental hygiene and other optional procedures are rendered based on clinical and professional judgment of students and faculty. Basic procedures include oral examination and charting, scaling and polishing of teeth, and patient education. Since this part of the dental hygiene curriculum is to provide teaching-learning experiences, the Department reserves the right to select patients and the type of procedures to be rendered; and to refuse individuals who do not meet the teaching criteria. It should be emphasized that full dental service is not available and service is limited to procedures in dental hygiene.
