(Mālama Honua Disaster Fund, MHDF) The Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) provides a limited number of $10,000 grants to repair eligible Native Hawaiian homeowners' homes that sustained minor damage during the March 2026 Kona Low storm events. The program helps OHA beneficiary homeowners with minor disaster-related cleanup and home repair needs for their principal residences located in OHA-identified Kona Low storm highly impacted areas throughout Hawaii. The grants are intended for homes that remain safe to live in but require non-structural repairs or cleanup due to flooding, water damage, or other storm-related impacts. The Malama Honua Disaster Fund (MHDF) program is open to Native Hawaiian homeowners who are not otherwise eligible for OHA's March 2026 Kona Low General Disaster Assistance Program that the Hawaiian Council is contracted to administer. Applicants must provide verifiable quotes, invoices, or other acceptable cost documentation for repairs or cleanup due to the storms. (AHED, AHED Foundation) Affordable Housing and Economic Development Foundation (AHED) functions primarily as a funding organization that secures affordable housing and economic opportunity grants, loans or other funding and partners with affordable housing developers and service providers to provide affordable housing and economic opportunities to residents in need. We work to create, develop, and preserve low-income housing. We also support programs that provide job training, childcare services, and economic development. We do this by securing private and public loans and grants to fund affordable housing development. We then partner with housing developers and service providers to provide affordable housing.

(Ma Ka Hana Ka Ike) Ma Ka Hana Ka 'Ike ("In Working, One Learns") is a hands-on vocational skills training program for at-risk high-school youth in Hana, Maui. The mission of our program is to provide Hana's youth with a way to learn that makes sense to them, that builds their self-esteem and shows them they have the power to change their future. By applying academics to real-life situations, our program gives students tangible skills that translate into valuable life experience, while our after-school training component provides much-needed employment in our community. We've established partnerships with other area nonprofits to identify community members who'll best benefit from our students' vocational education. Our goals include transforming the behavioral patterns of at-risk youth, creating an appreciation of learning, building community relationships, responding to real school and community needs, and offering skills of self-sustenance to the remote Hana region.

(H-HEAP, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program - Energy Credit - Molokai, LIHEAP, LIHEAP EC) Hawaii Home Energy Assistance Program - Energy Credit (H-HEAP) is a federal program that provides qualifying low-income households with a one-time credit to offset household energy costs. Applications for this program are only accepted during the month of June. The amount of the credit varies each year and is based on the total number of people living in the house. Applicants must have an active electric account and are required to submit a current electric bill. Applicants may apply, once per program year for one of the two types of credit: Energy Credit (EC) or Emergency Crisis Intervention (ECI).

The Arc of Kona provides transportation, evaluation, job counseling, training, placement, residential programs, personal assistance, and day activity programs for people with intellectual disabilities.

The Medical Reserve Corps in Hawaii is an all volunteer group with many different skill sets. The Hawaii MRC needs volunteers who have medical and non-medical backgrounds who want to serve their local communities during public health emergencies or large scale emergency response events.

(Alanon Family Group East Hawaii, Alateen East Hawaii) Al-Anon is a worldwide fellowship of those who feel their lives have been deeply affected by someone else’s drinking. The only requirement for membership is that there be a problem of alcoholism in a relative or friend. Members, who come from all walks of life, meet to share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems. Alateen is a recovery program for teenagers whose lives have been affected by someone else's drinking.
