(Kupuna Program, Na Pua O Ko'olau Kupuna Program, Na Pua O Ko'olau Senior Citizens Program) Na Pua o Koolau promotes socialization, culture, exercise, and access to healthy foods through a variety of events and activities. Registered participants partake in fellowship, education and recreation through regular meal services, virtual and in person creative and fitness classes, off sit excursions, presentations, and work days.

Provides primary health care including medical and psychiatric services for eligible veterans with stable, chronic health problems or minor acute illness. Provides social services, case management services, and information and referral to appropriate resources.

Fresh food and essential household items like toilet paper, laundry soap and other items when they are available.

(LITFP) The Low Income Transit Fare Program (LITFP) provides a discounted transit fare for income qualifying individuals. Applications accepted on a first come, first served basis. The LITFP program runs on the City and County of Honolulu's fiscal year (July 1st-June 30th), so clients will need to reapply ever fiscal year. (Piha, Pili A Pa'a, Pili A Paa) Piha Me Ka Pono is a collaboration with the Kohala School Complex to implement the Community School model, bringing in resources and supports not just for the school complex but for the whole community.

Provides tuberculosis (TB) inpatient, skilled nursing facility (SNF), and intermediate care facility (ICF).

(Food Pantry) Saint Theresa Catholic Church provides food pantry outreach for those who are low income or in need of food on the 4th Thursday per month 8:30 am - 10:00 am. During the holidays, the pantry will be available only on the 3rd Thursday of November and December 8:30 am - 10:00 am.

Provides a comprehensive recreational program in the community. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring and summer. Activities are geared for all ages, including classes in arts and crafts, Hawaiiana, games and sports, music, seasonal activities and crafts, and excursions. A list of activities, registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

Provides screening and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases (STD), including syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia. Provides HIV testing and counseling, and partner notification services for STD, HIV. Also provides hepatitis B and C testing (based on eligibility, please call to check). Inspects plants and plant products arriving from foreign countries and leaving Hawaii to prevent spread of undesirable pests and diseases. Enforces federal regulations governing the movement of agricultural items to the United States mainland.

Operates photographic camera club with access to a black and white darkroom. Educates members in the various processes and complexities of photography. Schedules an annual members' exhibition, an annual members contest and periodic shooting opportunities. Anyone interested in learning to print and process black and white film/prints may sign up with the Makiki District Recreation Program.

(SHEG) A one time, not ongoing financial assistance for households who are homeless or at-risk for homelessness. Single, couples and families. Provides assistance with rent deposit, first month rent, past due rent, utilities when included with rent or if utility assistance prevents homelessness. Utility assistance for renters only. Utilities assistance to prevent the household from losing their housing or prevent homelessness.

Maintains information resources, i.e. books, magazines, musical recordings, video and audio tapes, State and County government documents and Hawaiiana materials. Provides fax service to send messages to State legislators. Provides access to wi-fi and telephone reference service.

(Summer EBT) Summer EBT, also called SUN Bucks, is a new and permanent program to provide benefits to households with school-aged children to purchase food during the summer. Households will receive $177 for each qualifying child, to be spent during the summer months. Eligibility must be established annually. The SUN Bucks Program for Summer 2025 operating period will be from May 31, 2025 through August 3, 2025. When will SUN Bucks expire? Unused benefits expire 122 days after the date benefits are issued. Please use the benefit within that time frame. Once expired, the benefit cannot be reloaded. Visit the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on the website for more information. For children who automatically qualify, the SUN Bucks EBT card with the $177 benefit already loaded will be mailed out by FIS starting the week of May 19th via USPS. Households should anticipate that it may take 1-2 weeks for delivery. Cards are sent to the mailing address based on the child’s school records, or the household's mailing address per their SNAP or TANF case if the household participates or has participated in those programs. Dreams help remind children in crisis that they are special and loved. Dream Imua, formerly A Keiki’s Dream, grants child-directed dreams to children 4-16 years old in crisis of any nature, such as abuse, neglect, homelessness or a major medical issues. This child-directed approach not only offers a reprieve from suffering, but validates the child’s self-worth, sending positive messages of support and encouragement, reminding the child what it is to have hope. This important program began in 1990 and became part of Imua Family Services in 2015. Over the last 30 years, the program has filled nearly 1,500 dreams from turning little girls into princesses and little boys into superheroes. The program offers children a chance to escape their difficult lives through helicopter rides, zip-lining, music lessons, horseback riding and more. Dream Imua relies on community support and involvement to help make these dreams a reality for those in need.

Operates a prison for high security offenders and medium security offenders.

Provides after school program for Kindergarten through sixth grade students in public elementary schools, who are without adult supervision after school. Program includes homework, recreation supervision, special classes and activities.

(Rapid Re-Housing) The program assists individuals and families who are imminent risk of homelessness to quickly become re-housed or to avoid eviction. Most referrals through the Coordinated Entry System (CES).

Provides adult care at three sites on Maui. Offers various therapeutic, social and recreational activities. Cooperates with other agencies to service clients.

Implements the State NonPoint Source program, which includes public outreach, grants for demonstration projects to control polluted runoff, and watershed management projects. Implements the State water pollution control program, which includes permitting, monitoring of surface water quality, and enforcement of state rules relating to water pollution control.
