Provides statewide support for aquaculture development including planning, coordination, marketing, research funding, business counseling, disease prevention, information dissemination and extension services. Aquafarmers currently produce more than 35 species including microalgae, shrimp, prawns, seaweed, and tilapia.

The Humane Society Hawaii Island (HIHS) provides shelter, food, licensing, adoption and euthanasia services for animals picked up by HIHS humane officers or brought in by private owners. (VLA) The VLA project focuses on disabled and elderly veterans and family members who are residents of the state of Hawaii and who want assistance with filing benefits claims with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Also offers referrals to volunteer attorneys through VLSH's pro bono program for legal advice and direct services for: Family Law, Tenant Rights, Collections and Bankruptcy, Estate Planning/Probate, Re-Employment and Community Service Program (Oahu only).

(Hawaii County PAL) Provides athletic programs and counseling for children under 17 years of age who have behavioral problems and tending towards crime.

(Kauai Teen Court) Teen Court is a collaborative effort between the Kauai Police Department (KPD), Prosecutor, County of Kauai, Family Court Fifth Circuit, Hale 'Opio Kaua'i, Inc, and youth serving public and private sector agencies to provide a diversionary program from Family Court for first time misdemeanor or status offending youth between the ages of 10 and 18. Juveniles who have admitted guilt and are prepared to be sentenced by their peers will be given a hearing. Teen Court judges selected from a pool of practicing judges, attorneys, and trained teens serve as court officers. Sentences may include referral to mediation or anger management classes, substance abuse counseling, tutoring, or to a mentor. All youth completing sentencing serve on at least three juries.

(OSHA) Offers health appraisal physical examinations and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health) compliance medical examinations and drug screening. Provides health education and the employee assistance program. Offers occupational medicine, immunizations and industrial injury care and independent medical evaluations. Also provides travel immunizations.

Provides social casework, pre-sentence investigation, and supervision of adults convicted of misdemeanor offenses and traffic violations. Assists Court in using sentencing power to rehabilitate individuals. All clients are Court ordered for misdemeanor offenses for pre-sentence reports or on supervision for maximum of one year for each case referred. Referral for mental health, drug and alcohol assessment and follow up treatment. Restitution study for victims of crimes and collection of monies may be ordered by the Judge. Credit Counseling

Read To Me International promotes reading aloud as a means to raising children who love and value reading. It bases its mission, "To share the love and joy of reading aloud," on research and best practices through the following activities: presentations and workshops to parents, educators, and caregivers; book fairs; biennial read-aloud conferences featuring authors and illustrators; prison literacy; programs for mothers, including one for those living in transitional housing; and special events, including reading to children in schools, preschools, and service organizations. Read To Me International Foundation is devoted to improving children's literacy. Its mission is to promote the love and joy of reading aloud to children. Read To Me educates the public about the importance of reading aloud to children through multi-media, ads, newsletters, website, presentations for parents at schools and preschools, social media and public service announcements.

Salvation Army - Kona provides a food pantry. Clients are able to receive food pantry services once a month.

Recruits businesses, firehouses, agencies, etc. in the community as Safe Places, identified by easily recognized yellow and black diamond shaped signs. Any youth can go to a Safe Place for help. A trained worker at the Safe Place will talk to the youth to determine the immediate problem and act in the youth's behalf.

Private school includes grades K-8 for boys and girls.

The Ulupono Family Strengthening Program provides family support, referrals and resources to families on Oahu from birth to 17 years old to promote positive parenting, safe and secure home environment, and healthy child development.

This unique offering encourages campers to learn about the ocean and Maui’s natural environment while developing useful skills and making new friends. Each session centers around a specific ocean-related theme and includes hands-on science lessons, team-building games, expressive crafts and daily field trips with local partners, including weekly 3-hour private snorkel trips on PacWhale Eco-Adventures vessels. Each weekly session accommodates a maximum of 20 campers.

Emergency food is available at the Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church Food Pantry. The pantry will be closed Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day through January 1, 2026. The pantry will have limited hours on January 2, 2026, please call for assistance.

(PATCH POD Program) The Preschool Open Doors (POD) program provides families with low and moderate incomes subsidies to send their children to preschool for up to two years prior to entering kindergarten.

The Hawai'i Health & Harm Reduction Center serves Hawai'i communities by reducing the harm and fighting the stigma of HIV, hepatitis, homelessness, substance use, mental illness, and poverty in our community. We focus our efforts on those disproportionately affected by social determinants of health, including but not limited to: people living with and/or affected by HIV, hepatitis, substance use, and the transgender, LGBQ and the Native Hawaiian communities.
