Shelter of Wisdom rents homes which are shared by our men. Men live in double rooms with shared living areas and house chores. We provide intensive case management until our men are accepted into permanent housing. We provide household furnishings for their new homes, which are donated to us by the community. Men must maintain their sobriety, hygiene, medications, meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping and behavior.

Adult Day Care program for elders and challenged adults needed supervised care, socialization, mental stimulation, physical activity. Also supporting caregivers to remain employed and or needing respite.

Hawaii Island Community Health Center (HICHC) provides integrated medical, dental, and behavioral health care for the whole ohana. Services include, but are not limited to: primary care, preventative care, women's health, pediatric care, dental, same day visits, mental health care, confidential teen visits, substance use treatment, WIC services, community outreach, and school based health care. We can assist with insurance enrollment.

(Adult Program, Adult Group Homes - Hale Kukunaokala) Hale Naau Pono provides group homes for persons with serious mental illness. Group homes provide shared, safe, homelike environments where adults are assited with developing and maintaining skills of independent living (managing personal finances, daily living skills, social skills, medication adherence, compliance with medical, behavioral and legal orders, and coordinating services with the various providers on the team to support client success). Program Participants are assigned to a single or shared room (limit 2 beds per room). Houses are between 4 and 7 bedrooms and 5 to 8 beds. Program fees include room, electricity, water, internet, phone and basic cable and shared supplies like toilet paper, laundry detergent, hand soap, cleaning supplies. Homes are fully furnished and participants are expected to purchase their own food, medications, personal hygiene. Participants will work with program staff to establish personal goals, attend structured rehabilitation, education or work programs during the weekdays and perform common household chores.

Plans, develops, manages and improves mountain and shoreline trails and accesses throughout the state. Conserves environmental and cultural heritage. Installs signs denoting interpretive information and hazards. Develops cooperative agreements with private landowners to open trails over private land. Researches and identifies old government roads and traditionally used historic trails. Researches and records trail and access characteristics used by the public. Distributes maps of trails and public access locations.

Our Wahiawa site opened in 1989. Our facility is located on the grounds of Olive Methodist Church, although we are not associated with any religious denomination. We offer a developmentally appropriate program, serving 49 children ranging in age from 2-5 years. Our toddler class accepts children in various stages of toilet training. Licensed by the State of Hawaii Department of Human Service and nationally accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). All staff meet State licensing requirements. We accept DHS – Child Care Connection, Open Door, First-to-Work, Kamehameha Schools’ Keiki Pauahi Scholars Program, and Federal subsidies. All tuition payments are done through the FACTS Tuition Management program. Your child’s Form 14, current TB clearance and DHS 908 Form are required upon acceptance into the school. Parents are also responsible for a non-refundable registration fee of $175 upon acceptance. If there are no availabilities, your child’s application will be placed on the center’s waitlist. Operates an artists' guild offering textile, fused glass, ceramic, wood and photographic art. Maintains a darkroom and kiln. Operates gallery and gift-shops with artists offering such exhibits as wearable art, silk screen and Hawaiian painted silk.

(Ho'ola Lahui Hawaii - Lihue, Waimea and Kapaa) Provides medical care; dental care; substance abuse counseling; tobacco cessation; fitness and wellness programs; cancer screening; nutrition counseling; individual, family and couples counseling; case management services; and outreach services.

Provides technical knowledge and information to commercial fisheries and aquaculture farms to increase production methods, processing and resource management. Receives, evaluates and distributes harvest data of commercial fish resources. Experiments with fish habitat and provides prawn seedlings as authorized. Maintains statewide fish aggregating buoy system to attract pelagic species.

Provides opportunities and manages facilities for non-organized, outdoor, aquatic recreational activities such as sportfishing, underwater photography and studying aquatic life. Operates and stocks freshwater public fishing areas on Hawaii, Kauai and Oahu. Shoreline Fishery Management monitors accidental introduction of foreign aquatic species. Develops and manages statewide system of artificial reefs to enhance sportfishing species.

Hawaii Language Bank - Language Assistance provides translation and interpretation in 40 different languages. Services include proofing and formatting documents and expedited services. Information online for persons interested in working as translators and interpreters.

Provides a national toll-free phone line to answer commonly asked questions on postal service, such as service hours, zip code and address information, and mailing rates. A caller attempting to reach a postal worker in Hawaii, or who asks a question that cannot be answered by Mainland operators, will be given a local number to call. Also provides U.S. Passports and voter ballot forms also available at several Post Office locations.

(TANF, TAONF) The federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) Program provides temporary cash assistance to eligible families. The monthly cash assistance given to families may be used to pay for food, clothing, housing and utility expenses, and other daily needs. Eligible families include at least one specified relative adult and a minor dependent child who resides in the same home. In addition, family members must be US citizens. The State of Hawaii Temporary Assistance for Other Needy Families (TAONF) Program provides the same benefits and services to Hawaii’s vulnerable families with children as the TANF program. The TAONF program eligibility includes mixed citizens and non-citizens, and single- and two-parent households. (Kapiolani Womens Center) Provides screening and diagnostic mammography. Offers breast and ultrasound, osteoporosis diagnostic testing and more. Provides psychological counseling, Tai Chi classes, and various other fitness classes. Provides counseling regarding women's health and issues including stress and anxiety management, menopausal concerns, depression, coping with major life changes, managing illness and much more.

Provides confidential crisis intervention, legal system advocacy/ support, counseling, and medical services for sexual assault victims. Victims choose whether to report to police. Staff will be present at police interview if desired. Prevention education to schools and community also available. Also provides counseling services to anyone who has been sexually assaulted at anytime.
