MADD Hawaii works closely with the Victim Witness Assistance Division of the Prosecutor's office, with youth programs and young teens in the prevention of underage drinking. Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii - Hawaii Island

Volunteer Legal Services Hawaii (VLSH) is the only organization in the state whose sole mission is to serve people in Hawaii with low to moderate income community through volunteer attorneys. Volunteer Legal’s pool of pro bono attorneys provide legal services in a wide range of civil matters, including divorces, paternities, custodies, child support, guardianships, adoptions, powers of attorney, wills, healthcare directives, landlord-tenant cases, collections, and Chapter 7 bankruptcies. Neighborhood Advice and Counsel clinics are being held in-person and via telephone. Clients are responsible for all legal deadlines associated with their case. We experience a high volume of calls. Please leave a brief message with your name, number, and brief description of your legal issue. Your call will be returned in the order it was received, generally within 48 to 72 hours.

Family Assistance Center

We offer a thriving and robust kupuna (senior) and youth program. We also host additional services for all ages in a safe, intergenerational setting at our multi-purpose family center. KEY programs, both our own and those of others with whom we partner, provide positive alternatives for youth and families from Kaneohe to Kahuku with a focus on prevention, alternative education options, civic engagement. As an excellent meeting site, KEY provides opportunities for community members to participate in and gain control over their lives and the future of their community through active participation in clubs, organizations, halau, forums and community service activities. All programs are located at KEY Project multi-purpose community center.

Kaneohe - Operation Hero

Operation Hero is an onsite after-school program, which focuses on character development and skill building within military children who have been identified by school personnel and parents exhibiting low self esteem, or difficulty adjusting both academically and socially in the school environment. Curriculum is designed to help children handle the challenges of military life, provide tools to help them succeed in school, and help develop a positive self-image while improving social and communication skills.

The app also tracks the current location of the bus you are interested in using the GPS device installed on many of the buses. In addition, it also provides options to explore different bus routes and take a virtual ride to better understand its route. Seniors Eyecare Program

Callers who meet the eligibility requirements are mailed the name of an ophthalmologist participating near their home. Participating physicians provide a comprehensive, medical eye exam and care for anything diagnosed at the initial visit for up to one year at no out-of-pocket cost for the physician's services. Eyeglasses, prescriptions, and hospital services are not covered under the program.

Stroke Rehabilitation Program

Assists persons recovering from mild to catastrophic strokes who may need to make major physical and psychological adjustments to cope with paralysis, speech problems, cognitive deficits, swallowing disorders, and visual perception difficulties. Assesses and treats swallowing disorders. Provides mobility training or wheelchair skills. Develops adaptive techniques and custom-designed equipment. Provides speech theraphy. Computer therapy for visual, perceptual, and cognitive training. Stroke Support Group meets every first Tuesday of each month from 10:00 am - 11:30 am at the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific. Everyone (patient, family, caregivers, etc.) is welcome, there is no membership fee.

U-Pick - Farm to Basket Experience

Hoa Aina O Makaha provides U-Pick events where guests are welcome to harvest from designated fields, assist farmers with planting, wash and weigh what you harvest, learn health benefits/recipes of whatever is in their baskets, and take starters home for their gardens. Kahala Community Park

Through volunteers, provides transportation to medical treatment. Also offers support group meetings and stop smoking programs, cab vouchers.
