The parent is provided with a set of carefully developed materials, curriculum and books designed to strengthen their child’s cognitive skills, early literacy skills, social/emotional and physical development. HIPPY is a parent involvement and school readiness program. HIPPY covers the following 5 domains: Literacy; Language; Science ; Motor (gross and fine) ; Math . The curriculum is scripted to help parents deliver the lessons to their children with confidence. Serves the low-income, underprivileged, disabled and the elderly by designing, administering and mobilizing programs and resources so that the underprivileged may gain confidence, knowledge and independence. (KGAR) A 1.2 mile (untimed) fun run for youth ages 12 and under at Ala Moana Beach Park. Annually, the event raises over $20,000 dollars to support participating public and private elementary schools’ PE, health education and physical activity programs. For as school to participate and qualify for a donation, a minimum of 10 participants per school must register to be eligible for a donation.
