The Hawaiian Council has been contracted to administer the Office of Hawaiian Affairs
program which provides general financial assistance to help Native Hawaiian homeowners and renters recover from the Kona Low Weather Events, the storms and floods occurring in March 2026.
Native Hawaiian homeowners (owner occupied) may receive up to $15,000. Native Hawaiian renters may receive up to $7,500.
Assistance is limited to 1 award per address. Note: Some homeowner and renter households may both qualify.
What counts as damage?
Major Damage means the home is Not safe to live in or Requires major repairs.
Destroyed means the home is a total loss or cannot be repaired.
