(Day at the Beach) AccesSurf builds an inclusive community that empowers people with disabilities through accessible beach and water programs. Day at the Beach typically takes place at White Plains Beach on the first Saturday of each month. Early Intervention Services are for children from birth to age three who have developmental concerns and focuses on improving the physical, cognitive, communicative, adaptive, social and emotional development of the child. As parents are the child’s first teachers, services are provided through one primary early intervention professional using parent coaching strategies. In addition, the program helps families by providing information, demonstrations and support to caregivers that helps them better understand their children’s developmental needs and how to meet them. Care coordination is available to help families utilize resources at home and in the community. Support Plans are developed in partnership with the family and service team that build on strengths and priorities of the family. (Domestic Violence Advocacy) Families who are enrolled in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or Temporary Assistance to Other Needy Families (more commonly known as “welfare”), are required to be engaged in activities that will ultimately lead them to self-sufficiency. Program recipients for whom issues of safety and domestic violence are interfering with their progress can call upon Domestic Violence Advocacy to help them find support to change their situations. Services include: assessment, service planning, counseling services, case management and linkage and referral.

Provides counseling, advocacy, representation on behalf of veterans, their families, dependents to secure rights or benefits. Receives, investigates, and resolves disputes and complaints. Assesses client information and circumstances to determine need and/or eligibility for services and benefits. Provides burial assistance benefits including burial, burial allowance, plot or internment allowance, headstone or grave marker, burial flags, presidential memorial certificate, dependency and indemnity compensation and other benefits. Provides escort services including accompanying and personally assisting a client to obtain service. Provides letter writing, letter reading, records repository, notary public, recordation of forms. Will file original documents, specifically DD-214s or equivalent, for clients.
