Ka Lai Ola is a temporary housing development that is located in West Lahaina within walking distance of Lahaina Civic Center. It will house 1,500 wildfire survivors until 2029. Ka Lai Ola will contain approximately 450 modular residential units, including a combination of studio, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom homes for independent living with full kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas.

The Rent-to-Work Program (RTW) provides rental assistance and support services to persons experiencing homelessness who are willing to maintain employment or increase income through employment. The participant must develop and follow an individualized employment and training plan to increase income.
Services include: Short-term rental subsidy for 12-24 months, housing placement assistance, tansition to affordable housing (if available), job placement/job training, and intensive case management.
