(Youth Technology Education) We offer several programs through the year for kids to learn about new technologies through a place-based lens.

The Respite Care services qualified Navy families. PATCH links eligible families with trained respite providers to provide in-home respite for families of children with special needs.

(Crime Stoppers) Provides law enforcement, criminal investigation and crime prevention. Investigates accidents and provides traffic control. Registers firearms. Accepts information on missing persons. HPD does not handle driver's licensing or motor vehicle registration, abandoned vehicles or safety inspections (these are provided by Department of Finance, Motor Vehicle & Licensing Division).

(Transitional Family Homes) Provides a temporary out-of-home placement living environment for youths, ages 12 years old to 22 years old, that require additional resources to accommodate their emotional, behavioral, and mental health issues. Together, the staff and foster families provide youths with a system of support, counseling and skill building services. This service offers youth the opportunity to live with a trained transitional family who provides them with support and guidance. Services are offered to each youth based on their individual needs. Youths are provided with individual counseling and family counseling with the ultimate goal of reunification with their family.

Provides a comprehensive aquatics recreational program in the community. Facilities include a swimming pool. There are three program periods throughout the year: Fall, spring, and summer. Activities are for all ages. Registration dates, and program period information is published in the Midweek prior to registration.

The Respite Companion Program (RCP) is an employment and training program established by the department which provides part-time community service employment opportunities as Respite Companions for low-income, able-bodied adults age 55 years and older, who assist families provide care for the frail elderly in homes, in adult day care or adult day health centers. RCP is administered by the Department of Human Services, Social Services Division, Adult Protective & Community Services Branch. For those who qualify to be a Respite Companion, benefits include: Minimum wage (up to 19 hours a week); free pre-employment exam and annual physical exam, free bus pass or mileage reimbursement, paid trainings, job readiness counseling and resume writing assistance, free criminal background check. Hawaii Rx Card is a FREE prescription assistance program that is available to all citizens of Hawaii. The program was launched to help the uninsured, but it can also be used to discount drugs not covered by health insurance. There are no applications, fees, resrtictions, or eligibility requirements.
