(MEO) Works with people who have bad credit, no credit, low-income, and no measurable assets to provide assistance and guidance in the loan application process through loan approval from our Internal and External Loan Committees. Small business loans range from $500 to $10,000 to be used for startup operations or the expansion of an existing small business. Step loans are available after six months of on-time payments. A borrower can seek an additional $25,000 for expansion. Emergency loans ranging from $200 to $2000 are also available.

Provides temporary assistance and information for residents of the Island of Kauai who have tested positive for COVID-19 and cannot safely self-quarantine or self-isolate at home. (Family Peace Center - Maui) Maui Family Peace Center teaches non-violent problem-solving skills for families struggling with adult aggression and behavioral dysfunction, emphasizing partnership, equality, and respect among families. Support for survivors/victims and child witnesses of domestic violence that includes individual and group counseling, case management, parental classes, community referrals and legal system advocacy. Support for offenders includes violence intervention groups. Adolescent services provided free of charge for those in need of effective problem solving skills to manage anger and/or those exhibiting violent behavior and anger control issues; anyone can refer themselves or a family member. Community education and training for schools, community groups, and agencies available.

We advocate for a healthier, more educated, and financially stable Hawaii. The 2024 AUW Advocacy and Public Policy Agenda can be organized in the following areas: Support for the economic stability of ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households, support for community members experiencing disaster or crisis with the Safety Net, and support for our local nonprofit organizations.

Shelter of Wisdom rents homes which are shared by our men. Men live in double rooms with shared living areas and house chores. We provide intensive case management until our men are accepted into permanent housing. We provide household furnishings for their new homes, which are donated to us by the community. Men must maintain their sobriety, hygiene, medications, meal preparation, laundry, housekeeping and behavior.

(Queens Medical Center - Main Switchboard and Information) Transfer in-coming calls to requested individuals or departments. Accepts volunteers who are at least 15 years of age for areas such as the ER Department, pharmacy, business offices and nursing units.

Maintains a national information center for those affected by anxiety disorders, including Panic Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Social anxiety Disorder, and specific phobias. Provides referrals to local treatment providers and local support groups, and provides information on these and related disorders. Publishes an E-Newsletter, Triumph, and detailed pamphlets. Promotes public awareness and education with media campaigns and events. Sponsors an annual conference to encourage researchers in the field of anxiety disorders to share their findings, and funds research.
