Senior Programs assists seniors in connecting with senior clubs and also assists senior clubs with facilitation of their meetings, organization of special events, scheduling of guest speakers, and provision of health information. Provides intervention, assessment counseling and referral for troubled youth. Includes skill building in various areas such as recreation, social and communication. Offers career and technical education and liberal arts degree programs. Assists students with admissions, career counseling, and educational plans; provides help to students with financial aid, free tutoring and student activities.

(Food Pantry) Saint Theresa Catholic Church provides food pantry outreach for those who are low income or in need of food on the 4th Thursday per month 8:30 am - 10:00 am. During the holidays, the pantry will be available only on the 3rd Thursday of November and December 8:30 am - 10:00 am.

(Domestic Violence Shelter, Domestic Abuse Shelter - Hilo) Domestic Abuse Shelters provide a safe haven for abused partners and their children. It is a time-out period for abused partners to learn about the dynamics of domestic violence, the cycle of abuse and how to develop a "safety plan". It is also a time for learning about and making choices; discovering that they are not at fault for the abuse; building self-esteem and learning self-empowerment. The Domestic Abuse Shelters help families and children escape from domestic violence and establish independent lives. The shelter offers up to 120 days of a safe haven, basic needs (food, clothing etc.), counseling and services for children. Program participants learn dynamics of domestic violence, develop safety plans, improve self-esteem and learn healthy parenting skills. Children develop safety plans and learn they’re not responsible for domestic violence. The shelters offer: -Domestic violence crisis hotline -Lodging and food -Crisis counseling -Individual counseling -Educational workshops -Support groups -Information, referral & advocacy -Children's program -Tutors for children not able to attend school -Assistance with obtaining a TRO, Housing and financial aid -Volunteer program The Domestic Abuse Shelters (DAS) provide victims of domestic violence and their families with a safe haven of temporary shelter, provision for basic needs (food, clothing etc.), counseling and services for children. Makaha Community Center is partnering with Waianae Assembly of God for the distribution of food, clothing, furniture, appliances, and household items. We also support local Department of Education school incentive programs in the Nanakuli-Waianae complex to help promote academics and attendance.

Keiki Steps is a Hawaiian Culture-Based Family-Child Interactive Learning Preschool established to meet the school readiness needs of young children and their families through increasing through participation in a high-quality early education program that is culturally grounded, standards-based, and literacy-and-numeracy focused.

Youth identified as requiring intensive mental health services may be enrolled with the Department of Health (DOH) Family Guidance Center (FGC) located in the school district of their home school. They are assigned an FGC Mental Health Care Coordinator (MHCC) at that time. The youth may, and often will, continue to receive School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) services and supports from the Department of Education (DOE) in conjunction with the intensive mental health services.

Administers the congregate meal program. Offers leisure activities, special events, educational sessions and support services at the congregate sites.

Program provides support through socialization, conversation, friendship and companionship. Spending time with a home-bound senior or person with disabilities promotes independence, reduces isolation, and improves quality of life. The Friendly Visitor Volunteer visits or calls on a regular basis to build a positive relationship that conveys warmth and caring.
