Temporary changes include: -No income restrictions – subsidies are available to all families whose housing or employment have been affected by the fires, no matter the income -No activity requirements – parents will not have to meet work and other activity requirements, like being in school or training -No DHS co-payments -Extra time for missing documentation – families who do not have required eligibility documentation (e.g., proof of child citizenship and age, or state residency) have up to six months to provide paperwork -One-year eligibility – if a family is determined eligible, they will continue to receive that financial help for child care for a full year, no matter changes to income or work If your family was impacted by the fires and needs help paying for child care, please apply today. The Hi`ilei program provides developmental screens and information for families. -Development - children grow and develop throughout their life. Early skills include smiling for the first time, waving “bye bye”, and taking a first step. As they grow, children develop more skills as they play, learn, speak, socialize, and move. -Developmental Screening - a developmental screen is a simple set of questions about what a child can do. It helps families find out if their child is developing like other children of similar age.

Provides mental health assessments and parent-child interactive therapy. Provides financial assistance for educational and self-esteem building activities for children in foster care. Provides training, support, resources and referrals to foster, adopt, kinship and guardianship parents. Hosts a Holiday Party for children in foster care and their families.

Transitional Apartment Program (TAP) provides housing for victims who need safety and support and are ready to go to school/work. Program participants learn dynamics of domestic violence, develop safety plan, improve self-esteem and learn healthy parenting skills. Children develop safety plans and learn they’re not responsible for domestic violence. Length of stay varies depending on individual needs and up to 24 months at the Transitional Apartments.
