VASH - West Hawaii

Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaii (VASH) provides supportive services to meet the immediate and urgent needs of visitors to Hawaii Island who are victimized by crime, have medical emergencies, or suffer other adversities during their stay. Immediate needs may include assistance with canceling credit cards, providing emergency transportation, or garnering resources (soliciting donations) for food and lodging. VASH relies heavily on donations and community support. When needed resources are not readily available, we will make requests and network with other agencies to try and meet needs. Service Learning Program

Be Prepared - Learn to Save a Life Now

Offers certification classes in CPR, AED, First Aid and Bloodborne pathogens to the general public. Retails angel medical uniform (scrub uniforms, lab coats and jackets), medical uniforms, nursing school uniforms, polo shirts, and CPR, First Aid and medical supplies. Also offers logos design, silk screening and embroidery services. Also retails the "Hawaii made clothes by last minute CPR and First Aid" clothing line.

Service Excellence Certificate

Launched in January 2020, the Service Excellence Certificate of Achievement curriculum provides fundamental skills for employment in the hospitality industry and beyond. The training marries our unique philosophy for world class service rooted in the Hawaiian culture with world renowned hospitality education from Cornell University. The curriculum was exclusively developed in partnership with the School of Hotel Administration at the Cornell SJ Johnson College of Business, one of the leading hospitality administration programs in the world, for the DOE’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. Upon completion of the program’s 9 lessons, students receive a Service Excellence Certificate of Achievement from Cornell University and ClimbHI. The program served 683 students and teachers in its first year, and is currently available for DOE CTE students. To receive the ClimbHI Service Excellence Certificate, the following online modules must be completed (each lesson will take up to 45 min to complete): Aloha Spirit Lesson/Quiz eCornell 8 modules Upon completion, both the ClimbHI and Cornell University certificates will be made available to students electronically.

Diaper Assistance Program - Maui

(Aloha Diaper Pantry) The Aloha Diaper Bank supports newborns up to 3 years old who are facing poverty or family crises due to job loss or personal circumstances. Working in collaboration with various local agencies that serve low-income, homeless, and families in crisis, we provide essential diapers and wipes. Families are encouraged to register with one of the partner agencies to receive ongoing support and access other valuable services during challenging times. Additionally, the Aloha Diaper Bank offers a one-time emergency assistance package, including 75 diapers and 2 packs of baby wipes, to address immediate needs. The Aloha Diaper Bank Maui Pantry and the Aloha Diaper Bank Kauai Pantry works with partner agencies to distribute diapers to families in need. (H-HEAP, Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program - Energy Crisis Intervention, LIHEAP ECI, ECI, Energy Crisis Intervention) Assists households who are at the verge of getting their electricity or utility terminated or if their electricity or utility has been terminated. Applicants may apply, once per program year for one of the two types of credit: Energy Credit (EC) or Emergency Crisis Intervention (ECI). Energy Crisis program assists with up to $650 to restore power to the residence of a household whose electricity or gas has been shut off or is about to be terminated.

Kaiser Permanente (KP) will be providing medical services to KP members and non-members at several locations in Lahaina. -The Mobile Health Vehicle will be located at Napili Park. Services include first aid, adult and pediatric care, and ob-gyn services (offered every Friday) Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. -Kaiser Permanente First Aid Station located at the Hyatt Regency Lahaina, Maui Suites, Promenade Lower Level is providing first aid services and wound care Monday-Friday 9:00 am - 4:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am - 1:00 pm. Low Income Transit Fare Program

(LITFP) The Low Income Transit Fare Program (LITFP) provides a discounted transit fare for income qualifying individuals. Applications accepted on a first come, first served basis. The LITFP program runs on the City and County of Honolulu's fiscal year (July 1st-June 30th), so clients will need to reapply ever fiscal year. The HOLO card may be prepaid or reloaded on a monthly basis. Do no apply if you a person with Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
